Got to admit those chairs are great. Very crisp.
And I am with Vik, no shield thingy please, looks much better.
Oh and Tank looks amazing. your weathering is brilliantly subtle. Amazing paint job.

I will third the awesome tidiness of the chairs.
Tank looks good. Nice level of weathering.
Good job on his capital-i-ness.
Yeah, the shield looks like it would get in the way so much that it would eventually be "left behind" in his locker.

No shield thingy it is!
Tanks are done, I got the powders done on the weekend:
I'll try and get a pick of the whole squadron later in the week. I also have 3 more tanks that I could paint up, I'm a bit undecided whether to do so or just sell them all (including the ones I've just finished).
I'm moving towards bringing the Genswick project to an end. I've really lost my mojo for making things (especially tanks), I'll be adding a further 27 infantry, and I'll be scrapping 2-4 of the semi-made tanks that I had started on.
Here are the unpainted ones I had lying around ... painted!
Also I've given the Genswick 44th regimental banner some love. The Men at arms kit comes with a decal sheet with some Castles on them so I thought that by adding some cracks into it would be the perfect symbol for a siege regiment.
part of the extra 27 infantry is these two priests that I've been having fun with.
Shield thingy stays here, it covers a badly sculpted mess.
priest 2, only idea for this was "book on a stick" and a shotgun hacked off the Dark vengence Tetchvar cultist leader. Not sure If I can add any more to this guy.
Lastly I finally got around to casting that window filler thing I made a little while back.
and I should say, If you notice that the banner guy in the bottom image has a sword with my first attempt at nmm on it, then if you look up to the genswick infantry you'll notice he has a chainsword. This is because whilst preventing my matt varnish producing a white frosting on the model using a fan heater, I melted the sword.
Thanks once again.

Nice tank. Looks like it's been driving about a very dusty environment.
Nice work on the squad and I look forward to the priests. I can just see that book on a stick being shoved into people's faces as he shouts at them.
I melted the sword.
Oh dear. Maybe you could use that for some other model (like a psyker melting someone's sword; "I laugh at your pathetic piece of metal"...).
The NMM looks like it was nice though. So keep at it.

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.

Just all round awesomeness love the squad great use of those scratch built pieces, the priests love the medieval and sci-fi and we won't mention the shield cover
That is a real shame about the sword as it looked pretty dam good in the picture, but at least you know you achieved the desired look and can try again.

Thank you everyone. I'll get a pic of that sword whenever I find the damn thing, bent like a kukri.
Glad those priests have gone down well. I'm really enjoying making "characters", as usual I have more Ideas than I have time for. Just have to see what I come up with when I get around to doing more.
I've been doing a pile of casting, tank tracks based on 3d prints using shapeways "strong, white and flexible", I really don't like that name, Its a horrible material to cast with, lasered nylon powder sucks in the silicone and the uneven texture means more places for bubbles to get trapped, so about half the casts have failed so far.
@ vik: Actually I was in ikea 2-3 weeks ago ... after 4 hours I found the way out....
@hk: Thanks mate, the cast was made using the mold method you mentioned in your necron thread, works very well for small pieces.
@LDD: Thanks, maybe if I have call to do so again I'll give it a try.
@ Dr.H: Haha, I'll have to see if I can find a head with a look of horror on it and save it for that.

@ Graven: Thanks a lot mate, I've been ogling over way too many I28 / Inquisimunda threads & blogs, including those of Mr Blanch, stay tuned I'll have more like it in future.
@ PDH: Thank you very much, I find my self drawing inspiration from your thread quite often. Not even daemons are immune to paper-cuts. sounds like something that'd appear in 7th ed there
Tank line up:
I really enjoyed painting them, so I might just put 2 more that I've left lying around to use, these are not ones I've "forgotten" but rather ones that I've simply not known what to do with. There is a 7th lying around that I could use but I'll probably let that one go at some point.
Psyker really finally finished, with a base and everything.
These are the tracks I've been casting, from 3d design to resin cast. Really they have been a massive pain because of opting to use a cheaper printing method with an unexpectedly rough powdery surface that even after cleaning up made air bubbles more common in the casting process and obscuring a lot of detail. I might have a nother go at making them, but seriously not any time soon.
They will look fine with some dirt on them.
Lastly I've finally updated my swap shop thread with bits & prices
Thanks everyone, I had hoped to post this saterday and have a lot more progress by now but such is life.

Got to admit i agree with Big H! They look cool... maybe not 100% what you wanted but to be honest.... unless they are newly fitted to the tank / vehicle... they are never going to be 100% flawless anyways! Still look really usable and useful!

Thanks for the moral support!
So, that melted sword I mentioned
meanwhile I've been playing with green stuff
started on a tech-servitor or Inquisitor acolyte. I've actually nearly finished it now.
I'm also working on the a Death cult assassin and an archo-flagellant..
and finally put a tarpaulin on the basilisk mk2, I'll be finally putting use
thats all for now.

This is going to seem a strange thing to gush over, but the tethering of that tarp is magnificent.

Thanks graven, there's about 3cm of greenstuff there and I've still got a bit to do on the back.
It was way easier using fresh greenstuff compared to the old stuff I was using before for the last tarpaulin, so I thought I'd go the extra mile this time and add tethering.

Thanks everyone, some more shots for you.
Composite image of the tarpaulin for you all.
The tarpaulin was made by rolling out a big ball of soft, warm greenstuff between two sheets of greaseproof paper shaped to be the right size and thickness to just cover the top of the gun compartment.
The visible supports that you can see on the top are where the greenstuff sits on plasticard "ribs" that I build into everything I do now. Otherwise the greenstuff is sitting on air below it, with gravity (and me rubbing it with a shaper) giving it the sag.
Back when I planned to cast this, I filled the gun compartment with broken lumps of left over resin then filled it in with leftover resin from molding before it had set, meaning it's like a brick.
The loops are just really thin sausages wrapped around.
More on the acolyte
Thinking of swapping out the las-pistol for a FW Dkok plasma pistol, just because for some reason its smaller. I've removed the bionic jaw since then, just silly, gave him a cybernetic ear instead (hearing aid).
@LDD: Its not so much a hood, part of the robe, got the idea from the Inquisitor rulebook. The scroll was done in the same way as the tarpaulin but on a smaller scale, thinly rolled out grenstuff on greaseproof paper, cut and shaped with a knife-blade. some people let it cure I'm a little impatientjust tack it on but instead of laying it flat add some folds and creases.
@ DrH: Yep its a door ... As for the yellow submarine not seen that since I was 6 or something, you'll have to remind me.
Thanks again

Dkok/fw ig stuff is generally slightly smaller - more "realistic" (ahem) proportions. Digging the acolyte, I would amend accordingly.

@ Cam: The head is from the the empire luminark kit, as was the body there are a few cool heads in that kit including one with a really mean goatee that I'm looking forward to finding a use for. I picked up the crew from it from a bits seller on evilbay.
@ 40kFSU: less creative gas more driving gas. Probably just tackling too many projects at once.
@ DrH: So much LSD.
@shas: Thanks for the tip, I doubt I'll be playing anytime soon however.
Acolyte finished, swapped the gun out this morning, couldn't use DKok hands tho, I'd have one huge hand and one tiny one, so instead I found the perfect las pistol. Image reference Inquisitor rulebook part one page 38 in the pdf.
so that's him done.despite the holster not matching the weapon in any way what so ever.
I also summed up the effort and time to get some paint on the last Dark vengeance Cultists, I'm basically only using Vajello model colour paints now and the black is very matt, hence it looks different on the model to the spray I'm using, not a problem I had with the old chaos black.
Thanks for stopping by.
