Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad (first thing that came to my mind)
Eden of the East (+ Films)

I would have also proposed Suzuka, but now that I've read the sequel manga.... Not so heartwarming anymore.

IDK, so many anime/maga end in downer/bittersweet endings. Lots of series with heartwarming moments, but many of them don't end well. Japan doesn't like happy endings

Doesn't necessarily have to be happy in the beginning or middle. I just want a good old fashioned happy ending.

Already watched Eden. I'll check out that Mongolian Chop Squad, doesn't seem like a title fitting this criteria though.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

The anime/manga is about some teens (and young adults) from Japan who come together to form a Band (Beck). The series features LOTS of references to music and is mostly a coming of age story about the main character.

It has its downer moments, but overall the series I think is one that focuses more on the good of growing up than the bad.

hmmm. Not too big into music. Could be a little boring. I really have to buy into a setting.

Man, I wish there was more Ah My Goddess.

It would be nice if more Anime had better endings. Or at least wrapped things up at all. It seems like every other anime has non-ending or a half-assed one.

I literally hate non-endings. they disturb me to no end.
Hell if I feel like drawing something everything in it must have a purpose, a beginning and all. ambiguity creeps me out. Honestly I think I would be less tortured in an actual torture room than forced to endure many half-endings.
I hate them.
Absolutely freaking detest them. At the same time, I also find totally-happy endings under-whealming unless all of the characters have EARNED it.
I like bitter-sweet rap ups, or a really good happy ending.

Asura Cryin is pretty good, it's a bit brutal, and I find the tone shift right at the end a bit jarring but it's quite good for all of that.

You're Under Arrest is really enjoyable in all it's forms if you're looking for something more light hearted.

The Seven Samurai rip, Seven Samurai is decent as well, and if you're okay with a VERY Japanese RomCom I'll never not recommend ToraDora.

For brutal and earning it with a complete ending? Blast of Tempest.

I beg of you sarge let me lead the charge when the battle lines are drawn
Lemme at least leave a good hoof beat they'll remember loud and long

Golden Time as well. Its heart warming. Perhaps a bit too much for some but thats down to taste. It also wraps up quite well which is partly why I enjoyed it as much as I did.

Holy Terra

So, spending my break watching Legend of the Legendary Heroes, which is trying to be both Game of Thrones and a slapstick comedy.

I'm preferring the intrigue to the comedy, probably because it's mostly beating the poor main character up (anime does love to do that, it seems.)

My SD Sengoku Astray arrived yesterday and I'm excited to add it to the pile of SD gunpla in my cubicle.

Small joys in life.

Also, I watched the first two episodes of KanColle.... I'm in but does this continue to stay pretty light and such or is it going to take some weird dark turn halfway in?

It was really more a reference to the hands being one of the most sensitive areas on the body. Tattoos hurt like the dickens even when they're put on a relatively non-sensitive area like the back. On the hands they'd probably be almost unbearable.

In other news, a Wo-Class Standard Carrier finally showed up in KanColle. I'm extremely happy! <3

Despite my more than lackluster opinion of SOA, there is still some entertaining thing that can be done with it.

Well the tone gets a drab more serious, but for the most part light and sweet.

Speaking of Episode 8's title is "I'm not a Hotel!" so confirmation for Yamato FINALLY showing up in the anime!

Neither really. It's just that the pacing is bad, the kills are repetitive and there isn't any reason to invest in the characters. The kills are even predictable on a larger scale, they just try to rely on being sudden to have any impact. It's all the equivalent to jump scares in bad "Horror" movies, no substance to it.
