Yes, Ruina Superborum is made from a current AT Reaver kit.

Moar!

First Vultaraxii hit the field, as well as one rather tendrite-heavy magos.

Really cool additions, that Ordinatus would be massive in 28 mm scale

Thanks, it would be pretty hefty boy

On smaller boys, some Krios. For whatever reason, legit first half a dozen comments where about these looking like gingerbreads...

Sherrypie, those macro lense shots are I've always been impressed by your tiny brush control, but seeing it up close is even more impressive!

Thanks Don!

It's almost like tools designed for detail work are helpful in showing off detail work

Woah, DG for a change! Whipped up one Levi I had had in the pile for ages together with some suitably regular humans for scale.

Ah, a chance for macro brushwork! I was so distracted by the poor fella in his claw that I didn't even notice the details on the base. Really dynamic modeling!

And now I really can't unsee that those tanks look like gingerbread

Cheers lads! I'll try and see if I could get one more thing painted this year before a longer pause after the new year.

I doubt the guy being dread-handled is long for this world, ain't exactly the comfiest place to be

I'm not sure if he's festive just 'cause it's the season, or because he just hasn't yet swam through the weathering bucket in any way

Excellent work as usual! Weathering looks great, and really nice edge highlights on the chest/shoulder carapace. An angry, smashy dreadnought!

Thank you both, the XIV wear their scratches proudly.

He'll be a very smashy boy when I eventually can get a game in, perhaps even before the decade ends

This year has been so many years long that I already forgot did I actually do some hobby related things this year, and started counting...

Sherrypie's 2020 in miniatures:

Built but not painted:

- termie lord
- 19 termies
- Flagellum Dei (AT Reaver)
- Delictor Profectuum (AT Warlord)
- 2x AT Warhounds
- a whole bucketful of Epic Mechanicum
- 6 AI Lightnings
- Falchion super-heavy

Finished:

40k

- 7 DG officers (captain-commander, saturnine, apo, MP, libby, biologist, standard bearer)
- las-Contemptor
- Leviathan Dreadnought

AT

- Memento Mori (Warlord)
- 4 Acastoi
- Contemptus Mundi (Warbringer)
- Damnatio Memoriae (Reaver)
- Aetheris-Anathema (Psi-titan)
- 8 Cerastoi

Epic

- 12 bases of terminators
- 10 light artillery pieces
- 3 Thunderhawks
- 24 Contemptors
- 4 Leviathans
- 8 bases of Deathshrouds
- 3 Hyperios
- 5 Vindicators
- 4 Fellblades
- 12 Basilisks
- 6 Sicarans
- 4 Thanatars
- 2 bases of Thallaxii
- 5 Castellaxii
- 12 strips of dragon's teeth and razor wire
- Ordinatus Minoris
- 5 Vultaraxii
- a tech-magos
- 4 Krios tanks

...yeah I guess that counts for some hobbying, considering half of this blog so far seems to have happened last year as well

Safe and productive 2021, everyone! Let's have a less apocalyptic year for a change.

Yeah, 2020 seemed to stretch I always love seeing all things epic here, it's just a whole other world with the smaller scale and always impressive what details you still manage to paint.

Cheers Viterbi, plenty of that to come when there's time to paint again. The new titan teased yesterday for AT is looking for a place in the queue already

Eyy, some painting time!

While the next couple of months will still be quite busy in the military, one has to get some painting in while on leave. My target will be to paint 3000 points of Epic Mechanicum this week so I can demo the game on the weekend, starting with some WIP Lightnings and more killerbots:

After these guys are detailed and based, it's time for some infantry.

I love that you can see the glow of the techpriests eyes! AA stuff looks great too. I can never remember if they're the same scale as Titanicus or Epic or not.

Being small makes everything cute, even inhumanly brutalized and shell-shocked wrecks of human life melded with smart toasters

Well you can't shoot before you see the whites of their eyes, it's only fair for the opposition. And yes, Aeronautica and Titanicus models are in same scale which works perfectly well with contemporary 6mm ranges like Vanguard's, which is awesome and makes mixing and matching a joy.

Raah, progress!

Flagellum Dei, the Scourge of God, joins the ranks of the Ashen Gods this day.

Nomen est omen and so on, the tasty irony in the naming being that though the Great Crusade was a secular endeavour, Legio Favilla was most often unleashed only after peaceful negotiations had been rebuffed and a complete eradication of opposing civilizations was requested. Thus, like a divine retribution of whatever deities they might have bowed to, did the resisting planets bring on themselves their doom until only ashes remained.

A bit of freehand training this time, couldn't find suitable transfers so I just painted the whip then

As ever, click 'em bigger.
