Well...I'm getting to the point in building my Praetorians where I'll be adding some LRBT soon (other vehicles as well) and was mulling over paint schemes ...
I've seen various Praetorian vehicle/tank schemes of mostly red or blue...and while they look nice...they're not quite what I have in mind.
I'm strongly considering using a dark to light gray pallet with the addition of some reds on various armour, but was wondering if perhaps other dakkaites might have some other ideas/pictures/etc...that might "inspire" me...
Thanks guys...

Well, what color scheme are you using for your Praetorians? A variant of that would probably look best on the tanks. If you could work some sort of camo pattern with the colors, that could potentially be cool.

Are you trying to base your color scheme in real military history?

What are the main colours on your infantry? Red?

I would go with a muted main colour (grey as you say, or perhaps an olive drab?) with patches of colour, perhaps in the form of regimental marks?

Here's one of my LRs:

I'm using "standard" Praetorian uniform colors, red tunics, dark blue pants...

An example...

Not particularly trying to base my tank colors off of any particular military history...just looking for alternatives to the predominantly "mostly red" or "mostly blue" Praetorian tanks color schemes I usually see.

Something along the lines of what Slinky has pictured is what I basicly had in mind.

A little clean I suppose but this is a neat tank I pulled from Google

Hmm..Considering the inspiration behind Praetorians I suppose it would be a fitting choice for colors....or should that be "colours"?..

@Kenshin..

I saw that one as well, the tank appears to have been painted using Rotten Flesh...I like the markings, but the color is a bit lighter than what I was looking for.

I've always thought that having normal (olive green, I suppose) vehicles highlights the bad-assery of the Praetorians.

That's just me though.

That's actually my train of thought as well, which is why I want to avoid the "brightly colored" tanks...

I'm now also considering (after having a look through the "oddball tanks" thread) canibalizing some WW1 Tank kits and attempting to intergrate them with LRBT kits...might look spiffy.

That does sound spiffy

Hope to see pics if you do go down that route!

Way Way back in an old issue of WD in the UK, they had an article on someone at GW's praetorian guard, and he had painted his tanks like the union jack flag, I know it goes completely against your 'not just red and blue' thing but man it looked sweet!

I recommend picking colors that would compliment your mass infantries.
