just can i get this strait terminators can fit in a chimera???

Seems so, unless there's a particular rule preventing it in the GK codex. It also seems to be consistent in the old DH Codex, where it clearly states that the Rhino cannot transport Terminator Models. The Chimera, on the other hand, just says "12 models"

oh yes i understand that but i still think its fuccy that a tank not much bigger than a rhino can hold 6 terminators

Well, inside of a Crusader ain't much bigger than the inside of a Chimera, when you get down to it.)

If that's the only thing in the 40k universe that you think violates physics, you aren't looking too hard.)

Appearently... terminators can get into chimeras, since nothing in the book states they can't...

If you think termie armor is bad... orks can fit 6 MANZ in just about any imperial tank

It's been that way since 3rd edition, no one can explain it (except that GW had some new Land Raiders to sell).

IN 2nd edition Termis could ride in rhinos, but in 3rd they were barred. The IG could get terminator Inquisitors and for what ever reason GW let them ride in Chimeras.

Go figya.

I can imagine the looks on the faces of a firewarrior squad that just downed a chimera charging towards them, getting dangerously close...

I don't see the problem... they can fit 6 ogryns in there, why not terminators?

if you think how different in size are ogryns to termies, and ogryns can ride in there fine except for being a bit squished

I assume that the interior of the chimera is very different from a rhino, whereas a rhino is a tactical vehicle, with lots of stuff inside allowing complex plans to be made and adjusted etc etc while en route thanks to lots of pretty buttons and shiny computers I imagine a chimera is more similar to a real-life truck trailer, more-or-less empty to save money and increase cargo space. So perhaps you can fit a termi into a chimera because there is a lot of empty space inside, but not a rhino because of all the fancy astartes gubbins that come with it.

I belive the difference is the doors.

the Rhinos doors are fairly small.

the Chimera's back door is quite large.

I'd have to agree with Leigen_Zero's assessment though - The Rino is more like a Humvee to the Chimeras VABesque troop hauler.

That said, you couldn't fit 10 Space Marines into a Rhino either, but I don't see any great comedy potential in it. A little, but nothing incredible.

i just read that terminators or and other grey knight my not take chimeras as dedicated transports
althou they may still embark in them

Anyone else find it odd the Imperial Guard ride in the slightly more expensive, AV12, Two-gunned transport with loads of firing points and one Large exit
and the Marines are driving in the cheaper AV11, with a bunch of small doors, with only a bolter and two firing points?

Not really.
The guard's armour is ignored by just about every weapon out there, so their transport is their protection.

With marines, the rhino is JUST a battle taxi. Its job is simply transport the package in any planetary environment.

thats because Rhinos and Chimeras are different vehicles.

the Rhino is an APC,

the Chimera is an IFV.

the Rhino gets you to the fight, but then leaves.

the Chimera gets you there and then augments your firepower once done. the Razorback also fits this classification.

Before they changed it I used to air drop allied GKTs out of Vendettas!
