He All,

After years of watching and drooling over the nice Infinity models I finally had the guts to buy some.
Why "The guts to buy some"?, I read the rules a long time ago and beeing a mostly 40K player I got scared of all those extra single miniature rules and abbilities, the option to respond to an enemy action.....
But after the new Quick Start Rules coming out and posting with some nice and friendly DakkaDakka posters http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/355938.page I decided to give it a go.
They give me a good tip to get the hang of the rules (thx Quozl):

Start off at lower points like 100 and keep it to basic troopers and basic guns for the first game.

Then add in a nasty gun per side, HMG or spitfire while moving up to 150 points.

Then add in a basic camo or basic drop-troop (not HMG/Spitfire) guy per side.

Then add in TO models, hacking, TAGs, whatever.

That's how I try and teach people the game. You can go all out from the start but it's a lot to learn.

So here we go....

First of all, sorry for the bad english

I will try to post and upload as much as possible, but beeing a dad of a beautiful 2 months old princess, the hobby time is reduced drasticly.....

So my first puchases :

And after a half hour if glueing my fingers togheter :

Also did some undercoating so tonight I can start painting.
I think of myself as a good tabletop painter, I gave up the "Eavy Metal Syndrom" up a long time ago....
Now a days I get a full army painted and not trying to paint 1 mini a month with highlights you dont see on the gaming table

I also ordered a lot of foamboard and a cutter to make my own Infinity terrain.
I really got inspired by a guy at the original Infinity Forum, so I will try to make my own.

(If the original poster dont like me using his picture please let me now )

Hope you guys enjoy this blog.
Thx for reading !!!

Congrats on the new addition, also as a relatively newish dad (2 years now!) I know the limitations on free time so having a nice little project like this is ideal.

I have looked at Infinity quite a few time but not yet taken the dive so I will follow this plog with interest.

As a bit of a terrain junky, please make sure you show what you do with that. I can't see the image you have linked (work block Arrgh!) but the little bits of Infinity terrain that I have seen has been great so more is always welcome.

BTW your English is fine, do not apologise.

Congrats on being a new father, and also picking up Infinity- the miniatures have always caught my eye, and I want to buy some in the near-future to paint!

Could you post a link to the foamboard terrain-making guide on the Infinity Board? That stuff looks great! I'd like to read more about it!

He Guy's

After the Easter Holidays and it beeing like 28° (82F) outside I didn’t do a lot of painting/building.
I did play a few Quick start rules Infinity games.
Here a shot of my small gaming set up. I have some AT-43 terrain and used the Dust Tactics Board, its 90cm x 90cm.
But for playing 3 Ariadna’s versus 3 Haqqislams its big enough for now.

The first 2 games did take a lot longer because of the "everything is new" factor, but after that it really were fun and quick games.
I think I'm ready for some more rules
Its really a fun game where, if you don’t think tactic like I did in the first game, gets shot to pieces in turn 1. And thats in your OWN turn 1.

I also made some terrain.
As you can see there are two of them which can be used as a stand alone building or put it on top of each other. I’m also gonna stick some flexible metal sheets on the ramps so when I put some magnets under the bases of the miniatures they wil stay in place.

I only noticed that the putting it together for storage/transport didn’t go easy. I used the original specs from the guy who "invented" them but I'm gonna make the bigger building slightly bigger so they fit together more easy. I think that if I leave them this way wen they get painted it will rubb off from putting them toghether like that. There is absolutly no room between them. As you can see in the pictures.

I'm also 90% done with my 3 Line Kazaks, pictures will follow shortly

He guy's,

Here a shot of the first test scenery piece.
As you can see a part is stil unpainted but I planned to stick some Metalstrips on it so the magnitezed miniatures stick

The next bigger sized building of this 2 piece set wil be slightly bigger. The reason for this is easy to explain

As you can see is the space for the smaller object in the bigger object a bit to tight, so by putting them together for storage will cause the paper to come off

For anyone wondering were to get those "paper scenery"

Orbital

I also ordered today:

I have absolutly no idea about the stat of these miniatures, but I really love the look of the models

Finally got some time to finish the Line Kazaks.
As said I paint TT
(Note to self, make bigger pictures )

I also finished the Sniper Scout yesterday

And did some work on the Zouaves....
I kinda bough them because of the very nice base they come with but after assembling them it kinda didnt seem right.
For painting and modelling them to show of with the bases are perfect but for gaming I decided to put them on normal bases. Hope you like it.

I'm 90% done with the Chasseur...

Today I recieved the flexible metal so I can complete the first building combo.

I also played a few more demo games and I'm inserting more and more rules......
I will leave the hacking rules and such to the very end
