I'm a bit confused by your way of writing the list.

I think your saying you have 4 Assault squads (must do, to get 4 Land Raiders), just a note, it would be better to write
'3x Assault Squad W/ Melta gun and PF, 1x Assault Squad W/Melta gun and PW' Something like that, rather than listing how many Assault Marines you actually have. (not too hard to work out in this case, as you need 4 squads to take 4 Raiders)

This would be quite a fun army i would imagine. Some lists really struggle to take down Land Raiders. Extra armour would be nice, as would Multi-Meltas. So your Land Raiders don't get slowed down unless immobilised, and a MM is probably more reliable than getting your 5 Assault Marines out.
Only thing i don't like, which i think makes this pretty useless in a competitive environment, is you have 140 point 5 man Assault squads, with 50 point Priest, that in my opinion, won't be doing enough damage. I think you would be better off with maybe dropping the Power Fists, maybe even a priest or two, replacing the Chaplain with a Librarian (Or two, to get the cover save power) and adding Extra armour, and maybe even MM. (I also prefer Crusaders to Redeemers, but that is just my preference)

Having 6 men isnt that strong and at 1850 points all armies have things to deal with the raiders and they can take their time dealing with them.

what about droppin the dread, and the raven for a Chaplain, Mephiston and 3 Priests w/ pw

Priests dont get pw they are meant to buff the assault squad because priests can get singled out in cc.
You seem to be new and not hating but dc and sanguinary guard are not easy to use especially when you are new same goes for mephiston he is a beast but he is not a one man army unless you are playing 250 points in which case he is an illegal army.
Try running normal assault marines first to get a feel for the army maybe try a few fast vehicles I strongly suggest trying vindicator(s) and at least a Baal pred with assault cannons that way you can see what the army can do for you and go from there raider rush is not that amazing because you are slow and well you can get out maneuvered and lots of armies have melta and such to deal with lr.
TRy going with a librarian as your Hq he offers the most for your army and go with that the only upgrades that priest ever need is termie armor when with termies or jp if they are with jp assault marines same goes for the lib.

Well here is the problem, the 2 Gt's i went to i was 0-10 with tyranids looking for a tournament list that i can play and win. I am a 3rd BA player so i loved rhino rush. But thats not capable in 5th i believe. But i think the 1st list will work with me. i have 90% of the models; minus 2 preds.

Love it and hate it.

In Chicago land, everyone knows me as the Land raider guy. Yes... I have been known to run one to four in an army.


For BA raider rush.
If you’re serious about it, you'll need to have a counter assault unit to push units away from your raiders or reallly good draw of opponent. For me, Mephiston fills that roll. But so do my 2-3 Vindicators. Their ability ID most thing, bust AV, AP2 and on a fast platform perform/ compliment very well to the Raiders. If you don’t want Mephiston, HQ choice should be a libby with shield. Mobile cover for your raiders is good. I’ve also seen Assualt term w/ Priest put to good effect as a push unit.

My successful army was 3 LR. 2 Regular ‘god hammer’ w/ Multi Melta and a redeemer w/ multi Melta. The redeem is there to advance and screen Mephiston (My HQ). I have 2-3 Vindicators.
I also take a unit of double heavy bolter speeders. Typically 2. 12 S5 shots at BS 4. This unit helps put down Eternal warrior single model units. (Deamon and demon princes in particular)

The combo of 3 AV 14 and 3 Av13 make a pretty fearsome fist.

First raider rush I have actaully liked the look of now if only I had 3 land raider hmmm.
I was just wondering wouldn't it be more effective possibly to arm the speeders with hf and mm? Or hb hf for crowd control on nids orks guard blob squads?

No HF is too close range for such a fragile AV. Slugga's could potentially take it down. Ork boy assualt would = Goodbye 50P.

I would stick with HB 36" Str 5 Ap 4 Heavy 3 doesn't serve to badly. I'm hoping to run that and some Typhoon missiles. If you could check out my BA 1k thread.

I did some roll testing and if 4 Models are under each blast template 3 of them would kill 10 Gaunts a turn. That's not including the HB's. So in short it rips them apart.

In a Raider Army, there are units that are hard ( Land Raider and Vindicators) and unit are soft (the units inside and the speeders).
And Mephston is the mix of both (unit of 1, but 2+ t6), but again, he's there to deter people horde rush.

The speeders don't want to get close, they will simple die. Suicide unit with MM is OK, If you have to get a unit out of cover with HF, then use the redeemer or mephiston.

Also, the 12 HB shots are again, not there to flush out hordes, they are there overload single model units and stun (Rarely kill) light AV.
*Consider your typhoon vrs 2 2HB speeders. Yes, the small blast can take out orks, but in an army with 3 vindicator on the field, do you think the ork player is really playing tight on deployment? no... he's spread out to mimimze Large blast hate on a Fast AV plateform.

Trust in the cheapness of 2x double HB speeders. Typhoon = target. 2xdual HB speader = less of a target (in an army of AV14)
Just use your LR to screen the model from things like... Lootas and warwalkers

Thanks, it's done pretty good over the years. BA have just about the best 'Raider' army out there.

I mean really, Templars get crusaders at troop transports because... they are a crusading chapter.

BA get Raiders of all varity as transports shipped in Air freight because there are a fast moving marine army. Not like any of those other lighting strike, surgical strike chapters.

NOOOOO no single raven that is a terrible terrible idea.
Buy more speeders they are soo cool and such a pain because no one goes after them and they are really mean now if you have 3 its like ignore and then you can break 3 tanks man.
