This is my first try at earnestly weathering a vehicle - I did a little bit of drybrushing on my scout car from a whiles back, but this is a bit more involved. Check it out:

And a WIP:

Yes, I painted this in one night and this morning! It's meant to be the companion Chimera to my latest Catachan Veteran squad.

Looks good. Fairly tame for weathering, but no glaring errors.

I think it looks pretty sweet. Light weathering. Do you have the 'How to Paint Citadel Tanks' book? It is seriously my best warhammer investment to this day. I think that a little more dust around the bottom would be cool, but I like it how it is. All the colors match nicely.

I don't! I've paged through it at my FLGS, but I think I might have to pick it up. I've got lots of tanks left to paint and I think it'll be a good investment for that!

This title does not match the picture. It should be more like "Slightly weathered chimera" Nicely painted though, needs more muck.

Lost in the warp. Halp!

I actually really like the sort of subdued weathering. I've seen some weathering techniques that look great, but there's SO MUCH of it that I almost think it detracts from the model itself.

That looks quite excellent. Good work! I love the dozer blade.

I leave them off because they look really goofy.

Nice job!

I like the tank commander/crew you have for it. I was thinking of doing something like that to make a gunner look Catachan-y... I wish GW would include an option to have Catachan torsoes for the crew.

I wish there were spare torsos in either the Catachan command or heavy weapons sprues; I only had extra arms because I'm working on Catachan mortars next.

Looks good man. If you want to get more adventurous, start doing some sponge work (black and then BGM) and toothbrush splatter painting.

In order for it to be noticeable, you really have to go heavy on the weathering especially with the aggressive camo scheme you have going. I've found that as long as you keep it in places where it would realistically be (like down by the tracks), it doesn't make the model look too beat up to function.

The Dozer especially looks absolutely fantastic.

(insert shameless plug here)

Other people have done it better, but my IDF blog has some examples of how sponge chipping and toothbrush splatter weathering can look, especially when you combine it with Black Lava or some kind of mud texture. If you want...
