As the title pretty much explains the thread, I will post mine....

I would love to bring back overwatch, simply because it made you have to move a bit more strategically. If you had people hiding right behind that hill or hedge, and they could shoot you if you crossed their LOS, you had to think about how you were going to move, if it was worth the risk, how badly the casualties would effect that particular unit, etc. Now granted, overwatch made the game a bit longer, especially if someone overused it, but I always thought it made things a bit more interesting, along with the hiding aspect of RT and 2nd Ed.

What would you bring back??

And on a totally different topic:

One codex for Marines, with "costumization" rules, like in 3rd.

Took that book a little time ago, and that thing surprised me... It is lovely how you can personalize your 3rd ed. space marine army, taking flaws and advantages... It is nice for people like me, who imagine a full chapter every weekend

About overwatch, i dont knew that rule before, it sure have overabusive use, but suits Tau a lot. Could come back as a Tau Special rule hu?

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...
My take on Demiurgs (enjoy the reading):

Tears of the Emperor, the old SoB hand grenade. 40K with no room in it for a hand grenade filled with the tears of a thousand weeping statues of the Emperor is a 40K that makes me sad.

Signum rule of re-roll and Holy Hand Grenade using regular BS (not having to roll scatter) before the FAQ. My tech marines were awesome before the FAQ...but yes, I do prefer my (new) assault ramp LRs and 3++ SSs.

Shuriken Catapults. Those guns used to be better than Storm Bolters. Look how far they've fallen.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Proper grenade rules! I miss being able to throw them at double you basic strength distance and actually have them do damage.....this current nonsense about them letting you strike first if your in cover is just that. Nonsense. Bring them back please!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And a quick amendment. Being able to parry. Whoever you are. Yes it could make combats a little more protracted and drawn out, but in the end it would make things a little more cinematic.

I would return the old Bionics that gave a 6+ WBB. It was hilarious on the like 3 times it ever worked; every time was cinematic and memorable.

Also, the old Honorifica Imperialis; I uses to have a Techpriest Enginseer who was my "magos" using that rule.

Basically, I miss the armories. Fortunately, I play Black Templar and my techmarines kick ass still.

I want second edition, but with the run rule, the current vehicle damage mechanics, WFB assault resolution mechanics including the Ld mods for unit strength and all the wacky wargear and weapons from Rogue Trader on that have been so callously discarded. (Including the old plasma gun/heavy plasma gun/CSM MK1 plasma weapons.) I don't care if it took longer to play, it was more fun damnit!!!

5003 posts? Whew...

Movement limitation, ie humanoids move only 4 inches, Daemonettes and all Eldar move six inches. 8 inch movement for all jump pack equiped units plus the 4 inches on foot.

Declaring a charge, Back in second you had to declair whom was going to charge who, no mesuring untill the assult phase, then it was movement plus movement again (ie, Bob the SM moves 4 inches then another 4 too a total of 8 inches.). This would stop the maddness (I'm looking at some of you SM players) that is a 24 inch charge!

Swords that did more than just look pretty, ie there abilaty to pary blows in CC, worth there wieght in gold back in the game that was.

Overwatch, I so miss that. It would so stop the CC heavy and fast moving armies from just ROLF stomping my guard into the ground when they get to my lines. It would meen that the commanders would have to think about the movement and deployment of troops.

The Lascannon being as good as it used to be back in second edition, there was a reason why it was known as the tank buster back then, 3D6+9 APV, yes please.

Vehicle turnning limatation, the tank (transport, buggy, skimmer) gets a free 45 degree turn durning its movement. Any other turnning deducts one inch from its movement. if the tank hasn't move that turn it can trun on the spot as much as it likes. This would stop the Gurad AV12 wall of doom.

Pop up attack for skimmers (all kinds), if the skimmer has not moved it can in its shoting phase can "pop up" from behind cover take a shot then duck back down.

Teleporter jammer (wargear card), stops all deep striking with in 12 inchs of the jammer, expensive but well worth it against Gray Knights back in the day.

I think thats as meany as i can remember...

Some variance would be ideal. Conformity, the likes of which possessed by the ultramarines, doesn't suit chaos very well.

Possessed are supposed to be awesome, not a handicap
