I need some help on making werewolf Abhumans for my Imperial Guard Army. (I will use them as either a count as for Ogryns or penal legion)

As for my first test model, I want to use the Tharn Wolf head from Privateer press (I guess thats buy buy to my chance to play at a GW store by Local gaming stores are better anyways)

I thought about green stuffing the head and fur on to a Cadian body; I also I want to add some cybernetic implants to give it the IG look and I'm wondering on what bits to use

Any ideas on what I should do?

(PS: Privateer models seem to have superior detail, made of metal and yet are priced around the same or less the GW Citadel models)

What are you wanting to use for the IF parts? Just torso, everything but the head? And are you using Cadians?

I think the head of the Tharn wolf might be too large to run on a catachan body, should work well for Ogryn. You might be able to get away with using SM bodies vice IG since they are slightly larger. Good luck with the conversion.

good Idea on using Space Marine bodies, or something larger

I personally haven't seen the model in person, but when I order it, I'll see what I can do;

I don't want the werewolves to be too muscular or big

I also need to make the clothing look damaged or ripped

Any ideas on what bodies I should use for torsos?(can be from any company)

If all fails, then I'll just get the regular Tharn wolf models, splice together some cybernetic implant consisting of various bits and use the models as counts for either Ogryns or rough riders

Truthfully maybe using SM scout bodies would work, Bulkier than IG but not as big as SM. Plus they have fatigue pants and armored torsos. I'm just not sure if they come in plastic or not.

If the Privateer heads end up being to big you might want to the check out Maxmini Werewolf Heads.

I used Rat ogres and spare goblin wolf parts (heads and tails).
But I also have a couple of "confrontation" wolfen (one in a tank top with chain wrapped around his hand).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

The Wolf Rider heads are probably too large for anything short of a Daemon Prince. They're on a 50mm base, so definitely a pretty big model.

On a more positive note, you might try checking to see if the Warpborn have detachable heads. Might be a bit more armored than you're looking for, but good werewolf bitz none the less.

The Warpborn model is on a 40mm base. might be like a Terminator head on an IG's body. but that armored head would look good for a penal troop, imho.

I'm bumping this thread because I've been trying for a while to find haeds of the sort.

Semi-human heads are easy to find, but full on canine heads the right size are tough. I want Traveler Vargyr style wolf guardsmen not big brutes.

Hope the greenstuffing goes well president if nobody has the right size heads.

Four scholars at Oxford were making their way down the street, and happened to see a group of ladies of the evening. “What’s this?” said the first. “A jam of tarts?” “Nay,” said the second, “an essay of Trollope’s.” “Rather, a flourish of strumpets,” advanced the third. “No, gentlemen,” concluded the last. “Here we have an anthology of pros.”

I have a wolfman thing sitting around from when they did the chaos mutants thing (eye of terror campaign?).

Basically:
Ork arms, legs, torso
Goblin wolf rider wolf head
Cut the 'neck' off the ork torso, attach the wolf head and green stuff to taste!

I'm not exactly too big of a fan of the traditional werewolf look where it looks more like a hairy man rather then an actual wolf

but thanks for the suggestions

has anyone else made similar conversions for IG?

There are lots of Werewolf miniatures. Rackham confrontation even had complete fractions (one plastic, two in metal times): Wolfen and Devourer.
