From the first time i laid eyes on 40k i wanted to paint a Catachan army.The models are great and i love the Vietnam war theme that they give off(to me anyway).So where did i start, a squad of troops that i was never 100%happy with,id also had a burning idea to make some of my own Catachan rough riders but was worried about using gs(ive got fingers like sausages and am not the most talented of hobbyists).Anyway i bit the bullet cut up some catachan legs and with a little gs got them to look like they were actually sitting in the saddle of a cold one.
I also had a bane blade in need of some tlc so i Catachanified it? along with an old ww2 vehicle i had.

It is brown its just the sunlight as i photographed them in my garden.

Instead of replacing the legs with GS, you could have heated up them repositioned the legs, but either way works

Agreed about the spillage. But I think you did an excellent job of capturing their spirit. I wouldn't mind you kicking my ass with those. Also, yeah, that looks like bloody mud. But it lends itself to how hardcore they are! Sometimes guns just can't reach those hard to reach places.

They look awesomely awesome. Your tank is great but the Rough Riders .. brilliant.

My only suggestion would be to paint the sides of the bases pale brown. It would complete them nicely.

Not to mention mud does not have one official color and like soil can vary quite a bit in color...

To the OP: Nice work. The rough riders are ace. I love the guy reading the map

I love what you have done to the catachans but i hate some of the necks on the actual moddels themselves, i myself am currently working on a bit of a catachan project and i had to cut half the neck off one guy.

I would say that the guy with the sniper riffle on the dino is my favourite
