IF YOU WANT TO WRITE THE ENDING DOWN USE SPOILERS, EVERYONE PLEASE, NO EXCEPTIONS, ALSO SAY WHAT THE SPOILER IS FOR OUTSIDE OF THE SPOILER

Now that's over, this thread is for the most shocking or surprising end of any videogame you've played. You don't have to say what the ending was, if people have completed the game, then I'm guessing they'll know what you mean. Here's mine:

Assassins Creed 1
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
Call Of Duty: Black Ops
Red Dead Redemption
Far Cry 2
Halo 3 Legendary Ending (with what happens to chief)

I play:
Imperial Fists - 9000 pts
Tyranids - 1500 pts

GENERATION 9: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

The new end of MK. Just who the hell would be playable if they made a sequel?!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

THAT.

Seriously. While technically not the end, i think it's the only game "ending" I've seen that has actually made me start to question what I did in the game.

Mind you, New Prince of Persia (Cell Shaded one) was pretty far out there too.

Spoiler:
You spend the entire game restoring the land to reinprison a God, and at the end your companion kills herself, and so you destroy the land to free the god you just imprisoned and bring her back to life

I'm pretty sure that's just bad writing What was the point of all this again?

I usually call the endings of most movies or games before hand these days. Story lines get pretty predictable after the first few hundred. I'd have to say I've probably be surprised somewhere but can't particularly think of any games that come to mind.

I suppose CoD4 and Black Ops. Didn't really see some elements of those endings coming, though of course Black Ops' story is crap (suppose I should say imo to avoid flame war) so it's not really surprising. Oh, wait I got one. KoTOR. It's not the ending but the big reveal really blew me away. I did not see it coming (of course this was early in my time of paying attention to the story line )

And the end of Commander Keen 6. That was interesting.

Well, since he didn't even beleive in the Gods, I suppose it just shows that A) He was willing to sacrifice anything to bring her back, and B) They were always her Gods, not his.

Man I miss that game. Weekly Banes of the Chinese Nation? YES!

(So I don't come off sounding racist; the Chinese Nation, or CN as they came to be called, Zerged people like no other. Their Equipment was never good, but there were three of them to every one of us. Normally, that wouldn't have been a bad thing, BUT.... as soon as they got settled in, they started telling everyone else how we were going to play the game, and that didn't sit well with us.)

Gah, I remember blowing people up in 10 vs 5 vs 3 skirmish fights, suddenly a CN dude came on Track, and the fighting would stop entirely as we went to gank him and then resume the battle right after that

I'm sorry, but how was Black Ops' story 'crap'? I don't understand why everyone has so much hate for the call of duty games' stories, in my opinion Modern Warfare 2 wasn't even that bad, just confusing which was fine for me because I paid attention and thought it through before assuming that it's just 'crap'.

Edit: Sorry, only just noticed the 'imo'. But my opinion still stands.

I don't know. I spend hours trying to save the world, all that jazz and then at the end it all becomes pointless. There's trying to save the world and failing, and then there's trying to save the world and then dooming it by undoing everything you just did.

Halo 2 ending pissed me off. Red Dead Redemptions ending surprised the hell out of me. Hopefully there will be a prequel where we get to see Marston run with his old crew?

FEAR 2 was disturbing. Metal Gear Solid 2 confused the hell out of me, and Assasins Creed 2 was a shocker. But all in all, I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaate cliffhanger endings.

O i c wat you did ther.

But seriously, the endings of Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood definitely caught me off guard. That stuff was crazy; can't wait to see how Ubisoft resolves that.

I had read enough about Red Dead Redemption to see the ending coming, without really having it spoiled for me. I still really liked that one though.

Half-Life Episode 2's ending was probably one of the more shocking endings I can think of off the top of my head. Now if only Valve would get on finishing episode 3.

Gotta agree on HL2 Ep 2, a shocking ending with good emotion.

Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines also had an ending that was both unexpected and fun.

As does No One Lives Forever 2, it really needs that sequel damn it!
