I'm not really sure what the ruling is on Slow and Purposeful. I understand that you roll 2d6 and take the higher, but, the main question is do models that have SaP need to do the same when assulting? or do they get their 6 in assult?

As far as I am aware and can remember, they can assault the standard 6 inches but are unable to sweeping advance when pursuing a foe (so they will only ever consolidate).

Re-read SaP on Page 76 of the brb, its really clear on how it works.

For reference Difficult terrain is on P.14

They always count as moving through difficult terrain (including assaults).

Straight out of the rulebook (page 76).

They move in difficult terrian all the time, so it applies for assaulting too, and it also makes them I1 anytime they charge.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

K. When combat is resolved how does SaP affect that? filbert mentioned that they cannot make a sweeping advance, this would seem logical as they would have trouble chasing the enemy down when your running through a tar pit....

Unless the unit has a rule or peice of wargear that prevents them making sweeping advances then they may do so as stupid as that may be.

WHA WHA WHA WHAT!!! rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl....

So the few wounds Nurgle will take will allow them to win combat, and with any luck, make that advance?

I run Daemons and Nurgle can take a ridiclious amount of punishment. But SaP kinda shunts their killing power.

There's no mention of S&P effecting sweeping advances. Unless there's a rule in the codex that they can't perform a sweeping advance, they'd behave as normal infantry.

I think I may have been getting confused with SaP and terminator armour. Obliterators are both SaP and have terminator armour so can't sweeping advance I think.

Untrue, Oblits are no longer in terminator armour, they just have a 2+/5++ sv and deepstrike.

Obliterators don't have terminator armor. They just have the same saves as terminator armor (and they can deep strike).

Quick question...(to save making another post)

What are the rules for deep striking?

I have one friend telling me that they must form concentric circles in as tight a formtion as possible

and another friend telling me they must all partially be under the large pie plate.

What is the proper way to deep strike?

Concentric circles.

If you don't want to shell out the cash for a full size rulebook, you can do what I did and pick up the small Black Reach version for $20 on eBay.

Understood. This was a confliction between friends in a casual game and the debate was brought up. None of us had a rulebook on us.

But they have the reprises special rule, so they count as being stationary for the purpose of shooting.

Couldn't remember if it was that way in fourth as well(and didn't feel like looking it up/finding my 4th ed rulebook), knew it was in third; that is why I use the qualifier "a" instead of "the", "a" would mean any of, vs "the" meaning immediately preceding.
