Ive got this list out together that I may use for Ard Boyz ( yeah I know its early but nothing wrong with getting prepared a little early). Wanna see what you guys think.

This list is fragile but could work

I'm not to fond of the choice of 1 Stormraven with a bunch of juicy assault marines with a furioso

I love the idea of bloodstars but at 500 points in 2500 it's going to be a primarily target along with the the stormraven

I'm curious about Astorath why choose him when you have no dc what-so-ever

I'm also overwhelmed by the amount of assualt cannons you have in here

Are these for half-ass jobs on tanks and infantry or are you just a fan of dakka tanks

I'm also curious about your choice of corbolo other then 1 reroll and a higher fnp roll for himself but at 55 points extra IMO I don't find it nessary

To answer your question I recommend a Lascannon and plasma combo simply for variety

- The Reason I am only going one stormraven is the Landraider is taking up the other stormraven slot
- The reason for the assault cannons is with the 4 shots and the rending special ability I have a good chance of hitting or glancing any tank i encounter and the assault cannons can be used on troops effectively once I do not have any other armor target ( thats if this happens )
- I choose Astorath because of his ability to give my assault troops a better chance at geting red thirst, but I see your point and would it be better to go with Dante with the deep striking unit or maybe run Mephiston (But not sure I have the points to provide mephiston an adequate transport)
- For Brother Carbolo I feel having him with the Bloodstar unit makes that unit more potent with his 2+FNP and 2 wounds I can insert him into combat rather than holding back a regular priest because of it's weak nature with one wound.
- And thankyou about the Razorback Combo I was not sure which direction to take them in and I appreciate that

take priests over astorath i would say.

red thirst is great if you get it.

but priests mean you always get furious charge AND feel no pain. works wonders when you have an assault squad, with a librarian (unleash rage, shield of sanguinius) and a priest.
re rolling to hit, hitting at initiative 5 strength 5 and if your wounded you could possibly ignore it!

a blood angels army needs priests. in my opinion they are the best unit choice in the book for what they do!

also why does the unit with astorath not have jump packs? not saying its a bad choice im just not sure what the reason is?

also corbulos feel no pain of 2+ is only on himself, so really he is the same as a normal priest for much more points.

You have way to many characters in this list. You need to drop them and fill in some more meat. Its all about meat and priest in the BA list. Also as far as the asscannon go, thats just it. You wish on a star and your wish just might come true. Then again if your going to kill something, do it the right way and pick up some melta gear. On top of that your not putting enought armour on the table to help your key units survive. I do like it, but wish you had another stormy on the table.

If I was you just substitute Astorath for more priests

In all respects he's not the greatest for his points but an awsome model

Trust me I bought him thought he was beast ... Shortly after sold him

mephiston is better 10 fold and he's 30 points more

you misread the corbolo rules, he only rerolls 2+ for himself which is sad of him (cool model though)

But for one thing certain if he did transfer 2+ to his unit you would see him everywhere especially bloodstars

I know Corbulo only gets 2+ for himself but with his multiple wounds i feel more comfortable sending him into combat because if a normal priests takes a wound he is dead.
For the more armor on the table I feel I have to disagree because i have x2 Baal Preds, Land Raider, Stormraven, and x2 Razorbacks (thats 6 pieces of Armor) and the other Stormraven is being replaced by the Land Raider. For characters I understand it and will be replacing Astorath with a Libby and a priest

I understand your concern but even a priest with terminator armor is more effective then him and is less points

Corbolo sure takes a 2+ fnp roll and 2 wounds but in a bloodstar your terminators are going to soak the wounds

It's only when you have 2 Terminators and the priest left is when you have to choose over fnp and more attacks

This is all opinionated and feel free to take him I'm just saying IMHO he's not fit , at least for me he is

Not sure why there's all this Assault Cannon doubt in this thread. A TL-AC is better at popping vehicles than a TL-Lascannon.

The TL-LC is only better against AV11. It has a longer range, but most stuff with a TL-AC can move 12" and shoot, for a 36" threat range.

I've always been an TL-Assault Cannon fan and now I got the math to back it up, thanks for the backup was starting to worry the my love for the assault cannon was misplaced.

Im working on a modified list on what everyone has suggested i'll post it tommorrow and see what everyone thinks.

TL AC is amazing unless you have eldar cheatery happening gah I hate those guys.

But TL AC are great they usually make them selves noticed other than against my last game but still love em.

What trickery do you speak of? all of it or the wave serpants energy field? I wondered if the assault cannon only gets one dice... Does a d3 count as a dice ?

2500 Army List

The new list is decent. I have two issues.

First, your Predator is "backwards". TL-LC and HBs costs more than Autocannon and Lascannon sponsons and performs more poorly. If you've already glued everything, it's a tough fix, but I'd correct it if you can.

Second, running a single Stormraven is generally a bad idea. It's even worse when the Stormraven doesn't have a lethal cargo. Look at it this way: You are paying a lot of points for the transport capacity of the Stormraven. An IG Vendetta costs like 125 points, has the same AV, has 3 Twin-Linked Lascannons, can carry a squad, and has the Scouts USR. The only advantage the SR has is the "no-melta" rule and the ability to carry much nastier cargo. To me, that means you need to use the transport capacity to the fullest or you're just playing with fewer points than your opponent.

I'd also run all the Razorbacks as TL-AC but that might be difficult to model. Another alternative would be Las/Plas. It isn't that hard to model (just get some Plasmaguns), and is better than TL-LC in general.
