Hey I start this thread as I'm sick of buying models when I still have projects on going and the cycle continues till i have project and projects of work and non completed also after speaking to others I found I am not the only one. So I propose a pact among modellers to finish everything they have before buying anything new or starting any more projects. Please join my quest to have no unpainted plastic or models on sprues still in your house, here I go.

I Dullblade35 solemnly swear that from this day on I will not purchase any more models until I have successfully completed all of my remaining models to a gaming standard.

That's what I do... but then by the time I've finished (I'm cursed by being a perfectionist and a slow painter) something Christmas and birthday have been and gone and i have a load more to do!

I thought to myself "Haha, I don't need to do this - I am done!" until I remembered that I have a box of Boyz where half of them are still on sprues.

"Oh well, that's not so bad" I thought until I looked in my shelf and saw my unfinished, unglued Big Mek /w SAG.

"...okay, is there anything else I've forgotten?" Yes there is:
10 Nobz that are basecoated but not painted.
1 Killa Kan that is basecoated but not painted and one Kan that's half-painted.
1 Weirdboy that's half-painted.
1 Deffkopta that's basecoated but not painted.
8 Lootas that aren't even basecoated.
7 Gretchin that still need painting.
Their Runtherd is still shiny gray too.

So, yeah, I'm on board for this =P I decieve myself into thinking I am done so I can BUY MORE MODELS!!!!

I've just started selling off all the stuff I have bought and never got round to either using or painting

Selling off all my IG (expect for a couple of cool models), all my unpainted CSM stuff, lots of my Eldar stuff and am going to focus on actually finishing my main projects before buying anything else.

Decided that was the only way that I would ever get anything done

15 Terminators
3 Rhino's
1 Predator
15 Scout's
1 Landspeeder
2 Dreadnought's

(Unless I see something else from RT on eBay that is, I'm sooooo weak willed!)

nearly a full full IG army to paint, about 50+ men.
3 tanks

the startings of a BT army
3 LR's
5 scouts (neophytes)
10 tactical marines (Initiates)

and I need to redo most of my orks from years ago from when i could first hold a brush

Also, Soul Drinkers are awesome, and marines just get better when they have 8 legs

an unspecified amount of night goblins
enough gaunts to fill a battleforce box, the square ones
3 Carnifexes
over 100 Gnoblars
20 Horrors
and an unspecified amount of stripped minis that I've just forgotten for about 6 months.

And I was contemplating buying another AoBR set and two Necron Battle Forces earlier today.

I have so many models and so few of them are painted. I want to make this pact! I am not sure what it is about 40k that makes it so addicting. I love the game and modeling is enjoyable. But do any of you know what it is that makes it all so addicting. Collecting plastic is my new drug.

Oh nonono NOOOO!

Do not remind me of all my unpainted multitudes of poor unpainted minis ranging from an 1994 Orc & Goblin Character on Chariot to a FW Titan with almost everything in size and number in between.
If I would get it in my head to sign up on this pact, I wouldn't be able to buy anything new till I'm at least 60 (32 right now) ... and the new stuff is also soooo sweet

Sorry folks, it's just the crazies talking out of me.

Fantasy:
A half dozen or so empire characters (oddly enough, the infantry horde was the easy part)
40 goblin spider riders
arachnarok
2 goblin shaman
lord on gigantic spider.

Warmachine (Menoth):
a dozen or so warjacks (completely unassebled)
2-3 units of infantry (TFG, knights, something else)
3 warcasters (Kreoss, Severius, and another one)

I will take the pledge to finish my fantasy O&G army before starting a new one.

Way ahead of you, dullblade. I haven't bought a single new model in... I actually think it's been over a year. For me, though, it's less about motivating me to finish in-process units than it is about not actively seeking out deals to justify spending money I really shouldn't.
