Heya. I was wondering how many bodies other Dark Eldar players feel comfortable to have in their armies, at different point totals (1500, 1850, 2000). I do realize that the answer heavily depends on the type of army and on your skill, so maybe contextualize your posts?

For example, in my case, my mech army has a total of 34 bodies at 1500, and 9 vehicles; I feel my body count is borderline, but it normally works out because vehicles make my infantry last longer. My WWP list instead has a good 50% extra bodies (and of course a lot less vehicles).

So all in all, I'm interested in your considerations: is there a minimum that you think is necessary to have a functioning force?

No there is no minimum. Extra bodies are nice but of course they can also really hamper you.

Yes and no, I agree bodycount by itself has no bearing on how competitive a DE list is. However if your body count is particularly low then chances are you are taking too many expensive units and unnecessary upgrades which will definitely impact how competitive your list is. Its not always the case but its a pretty common trap for new DE players.

my 2k list has 54 bodies and 9 vehicles, and I tend to steamroll most opponets.

In fact, this was my first thought, too.
Some armies have a notoriously small body count like DW and may get outnumbered when played incorrectly.
But DE has the speed and firepower to overcome a low body count.

In 2k points i take 7 vehicels and 66 bodies, and I win about 90% of the time with it.

I agree with Dash, body count is not as important as functionality in any DE build.
