I hate the "Sand Skiff from Star Wars" look.

Is there anyway way to make nifty looking dark eldar vehicles that don't have this feature? It's the only thing stopping me from playing Dark Eldar. The new venom is sweet though.

Convert away. I have converted lots of vehicles for my DE Kabal, and there are many others who have as well. While my gallery currently only has venoms, I'll put a couple of my converted raiders in later on. Look around through the galleries.. the only thing holding you back is your imagination and patience.

Eldar Grav Tanks, Tau hovercraft, heck, I am currently converting a "trophy" Space Marine Landspeeder into another one..

How different do you want to be? Are we talking about something as small as using plasticard to change the appearance, something bigger - like converting Eldar vehicles, or something huge, like scratch-builds?

Why dont you just use venoms and voidravens/razorwings in your list? At least you'll have a characterful force and not the same old [Mod edit] blandness. Otherwise the new razorwing would be a good start..

I thought the "DoP Blandness" WAS Venomspam? At least I've always seen him mention Venoms over Raiders.

I like the idea of an open topped skimmer from which DE fly around and stuff, I just don't like the Sand Skimmer look. The venon is pretty cool, but how would I make a stretch venom that looks more like a cool hovercar/tank then a sailboat?

Have you considered converting eldar vehicles?

How concerned are you about cost? I'm certain I could think of a few ideas but, frankly, it might get enpensive (maybe up to $60 a vehicle, even @ Mini Mkt prices).
Can you give me a "top dollar" per vehicle? Also, how many Raider chassis vehicles would you be looking to get?

Seconded: I think with creative use of GS to smooth out/extend the curves, add a few sharp-looking details a falcon would be a good start!

Those are pretty interesting, but I'm trying to avoid having to plasticard an "interior". Still gives me some ideas though.

The falcon interior is already there. The only extras I did was block off the cockpit and stick tubes to finish the "engines" from the intakes through to the exhaust. All the floor, struts, bulkhead stuff is already part of the falcon interior.

Yea, it looks pretty good, but not really the direction I was going for. Also, check out this size comparison, (shamelessly "borrowed" from Battlefoam's site). The Falcon has a much different shape and dimensions from the Raider (new and old), although vypers and venoms are interchangeable I guess.
