where are you from? Finland? Country between sweden and Russia? Never heard.

Okay after many attemps I think I finally made a decent tau list

HQ

Shas'el, plasma rifle, missile pod, targeting array, HW multi-tracker 97p
2 bodyguard, plasma rifle, missile pod, targeting array,HW multi-tracker 164p

Elite
3 Deathrains 159p
3 deathrains 159p

Troop

6 FW (will take pathfinders d-fish)
10 kroot, 5 hounds 100p
10 kroot, 5hounds 100p

Fast attack

8 pathfinders, warfish, flechette discharger 227p
Piranha, fusion blaster, targeting array, multi-tracker, d-pod, flechette discharger 85p (IIRC I dont have dex at the moment)

Heavy support

2 broadsides, ASS, team leader with target lock 170p (IIRC)
2 broadsides, ASS, team leader with target lock 170p

That should be 1500p
Flechettes are there coz I had extra points and I could take more kroot instead of piranha.
So what do you think?

Necron Tomb somewhere in Scandinavia.

Looks goid for me BUT I dont like the idea of having hounds on 10kroot squad: 1 they get killed even without hounds 2 why would you want to cc with only 15 kroots&hounds? I would change one broadside squad to hammer head. Without hammer head you have very much trouble against horde armies.

Kroot are no awesome CC unit. they are there for 2 reasons:
1. meatshield (hounds are cheaper)
2.infiltrating and outflanking (still hounds are cheaper and better in CC)
And yes, hordes will be problem, but broadsides have more guns for same(ish) cost
atleast they have SMS.

Meh, it's decent. You've seen what I recommend for 1500 points, so I won't go through that whole spiel.

First, I'm pretty sure your HQ is incorrectly calculated: I think the HQ suit is only 87 points.

Second, I think at this point level you don't have the points available to feasibly field any fast attack choices, much less a full unit of pathfinders AND a piranha.

Running a single piranha is kind of pointless. The piranha's purpose is to march-block opponent's lists, and a single piranha isn't going to do that. The pathfinders are just plain expensive, and you only have 1500 points to play with. I think those points are better spent on more suits.

Oh, and flechette dischargers are not good. If you think a unit of 30 boys is gonna charge something with a flechette discharger, you're sorely mistaken. The only things that you would be worried about in the first place aren't going to be discourage by the dischargers (assault terminators) and nothing else was gonna charge it anyway. Get rid of it.

Hope that helps,

Knute

I can drop piranha and pathfinders, but what should I take instead?

I wouldn't spring for bodyguards without filling out all of your elite choices first. Your HQ is an independent character, and can roll with one of your elite choice squads on the cheap (and ditch them when the time is right, as well.)

Hmmm I like the kroot and HQ choice, I just dono if i'd recommend bodyguards on the HQ, I would make them into there own team for cheaper. Then you can just have your leader join the team. Save points that way. But I would have to agree that Idk about having 1 piranha. I would recommend ditching it and cutting the pathfinders down to 5. Then I also prefer the dumbfish, but thats just my personal preference. Overall I would say

-move bodyguards to their own team
-drop the piranha
-drop the pathfinders to 5

Then replace a death rain a team of of crisis suits with PR, BC, MT or when you drop the body guards re-equip them like that. That will help you with horde armies, I like having 2 teams of broadsides over a hammer head, especially 1500 and below.
I am not sure how many points you will save dropping the Piranha and 4 pathfinders, but if it is enough than have your elites as 2 Death Rain, MP MT, and a PR BC MT team, then after that add body guards. Or alternatively add shield drones to the BS or the HQ, or add some FW. Just drop those things and lets see what you come up with, thats my advice

I will...never be a memory

I think you've seen it before... :-p

That's what I'd do without pathfinders and piranha. Now I'm not usually a one true list type of guy, but for tau at 1500 points, I don't think it's possible to build a better all-comers list than that.
