Can a SM combat knife function as a bayonet? Does anyone ever model their marines that way?

Being able to be attached as a bayonet is what defines a Combat Knife in Dark Heresy / Deathwatch roleplay systems.

In that case, does the left-hand grip on a bolter break apart or fold out to accomodate the knife's hilt?

The RT plastic beakie marines came with both bayonets and a chain bayonet attachment for the bolters.

You can get bolters from FW that can have the knives attached... they can also get chainsaws on... i wonder where they got that idea...

The bolters that FW did are based off the RT/2nd era ones.

So yes. They had chainsaw bayonets before Gears.

I would say they did. A lot of the design team were regulars to some of the FLGSes here in Raleigh, with one guy having quite a collection of RT Beakies.

I'm actually surprised that we haven't seen a power katana in the hands of the White Scars. Aren't they supposed to be Asians, or based on Asian war culture?

I actually modeled some of my SM sergeants with chainsaw bayonets instead of chain swords. It makes it easier to pack and gives them yet another unique look for my models.
