So if the skimmer player dodges a ram, do deff rolla still hit or no?

It does not.

Deffrolla attacks are made as part of the ram. Ramming involves running into a vehicle, deffrolla makes the running into the vehicle hurt worse. If you missed the vehicle...you didn't still hit it.

Where this argument usually ends up is "Which happens first" in terms of explode during ramming results. And to pre-empt that one....they happen at the same time; there is no justification to place either the Deffrolla or the ramming attack before the other one. I've seen this used as an argument for only the ramming attack being able to explode a vehicle to continue moving, while the deffrolla exploding it doesn't count. =p

What the Ork codex does say is that vehicles rammed by a Battlewagon with a Deffrolla suffer D6 STR10 hits.

If the skimmer dodged, then the battlewagon didn't ram the skimmer...it made an attempted ram.

Well the codex does not say that using a deff rolla is being rammed. It says the unit which is tank shocked suffer d6 str. 10 hits. So I don't know, damn GW and their idiotic ways of screwing codexes up. So this is why I was curious what happens.

I am pretty lazy when it comes to going through pages and pages of internet rage. I just was a clear simple answer, not pages and pages of debate.

Unfortunately, given the lack of clarity and quality of some of GW's works, there often is not a clear and simple answer, and more often than we'd probably like, pages upon pages of debate over every little nuance and wording and detail. Welcome to the Internet.

The clear and simple answer is that the deffrolla hits when the vehicle makes a successful tank shock or ram. If the skimmer being rammed dodges, no ram occurs. If no ram occurs, then no deffrolla damage occurs.

To add to dash and insaniak: The dodge rule also explicitly states that the vehicle takes no damage.

What is unclear about:

BRB p71 "On a 3+ the skimmer avoids the tank, neither vehicle suffers any damage..."

I like the part where the ramming vehicle stops, but because the driver is sad... :(

My 2 cents: raming vehicle should be allow to continue moving, but whateves.
