Do you get cover saves from vehicle explosions?

if you are being transported, No (unless you have a wargear cover save like kustom force field)
if you are next to the tank and have a save, yes

You measure from the center of a blast for cover saves. If there is intervening terrain, you get the save. If not, your models face the brunt or go to ground.

Id say depending on how far they are in cover or what direction the blast came from so if you got guys in a 3 sided bunker and the tank explodes on the one side that is not protected then i would say they don't get a cover save (or anything similar to that)

WAAAHG!!! until further notice

Area terrain works, too.

If you're in the vehicle and it explodes, I would say no cover save under any circumstance, even that provided by KFFs and the like. I realize that p.67 disagrees with me with the line 'treat the hits just like shooting attacks', but I can't justify a KFF obscuring the myriad of shrapnel shooting around inside an exploding vehicle to somehow miraculously provide cover to the models inside. But that's just me. RAW it would provide cover I suppose as there's nothing stating it wouldn't.

Area terrain and what not will grant the unit cover if its near an exploding vehicle.

Most technology made by orks just works because they belive it does. Who knows why it actually deflects shots? By RAW you could take cover saves against the explosion, though I personally never do because it doesn't seem right to me. Wouldn't stop an opponent from doing it though.

Im with Jimdah on this.

I don't take the saves myself, but I could see it as the forcefield(carried on the back of the big mek) might be an inertial dampner, or something of that ilk(just ave me an idea to make a big mek with Gorks Snot Field, protects da boyz from just about everyting!) that actually could stop some damage. However, I believe that some opponents would view that as "gaming for advantage" in the same way as many people consider pivoting for extra movement to be unfreindly gaming behavior. I like a friendly game so I try to avoid things that are on the line ruleswise. There are pelnty of boyz, so da onez that biff it were da weedy onez anyway!

That would be for blast weapons. We have no such guidance for vehicle explosions.

Sure you do. The center of the vehicle is center of blast, measure out the prescribed distance and calculate hits/wounds. If there was no center, how would you know where to measure the edge of the blast is?

You measure the blast from the vehicle, which you do by measuring from its hull(BRB pg. 56). The "shots" are also coming from the hull(BRB pg. 61).
