So I've been playing orks on and off now for a few years and I wanted to try something with a lower model count. I've settled on a doublewing army featuring DW termies and landspeeders. Since the model count is so low, I though I'd try something new and work with LEDs.

To do this, I started by drilling a hole through the foot and up the leg.

Then I drilled a hole through the rear plate to meet the first hole. It didnt line up quite as I had planned however, this can easily be fixed with green stuff.

I then drilled a hole connecting the other two to the chest cavity so I can run wires down through the leg into the base where I'll install the battery and switch.

This is my first time working with LEDs so if anyone has any suggests or improvements let me know. Hopefully I'll have more updates soon.

That's a pretty ambitious project! How long did it take you to do the first termie?

I wonder if it would be possible to put transparent plasti card to act as the helmets lenses, my only concern is that the brightness of the LED's will overwhelm what ever paint you decide to put on the model, however it looks like you did a fairly solid job drilling out through the leg into the base. You off to a good start keep it up

Thanks all. The whole process isn't really all that bad. It took about a half an hour to get to the point I've shown so far. Its also fairly cheap to do with the LEDs costing next to nothing for a bag of them at radio shack. The switch and battery I got from taking apart those fake, battery operated candles which cost less than a dollar a piece.

The clear plasticard lenses are a interesting idea. I think I'll give that a shot and see how it turns out.
