With all of the hype about finecast I thought that it would be a good time to start a thread dedicated to listing miniatures that you think have the most detail. Naturally this discussion is not limited to GW's products.

Some of pictures I have seen of Enigma's miniatures look really good, but I have not seen them in person.

Karken Edition's Alkemy has extremely nice miniatures. I have a few Khalimans and the fur sculpting is gorgeous in my opinion.

Never seen one in person, but gauging from the pictures and discussion online, Corvus Belli's Infinity range are quite detailed.

Great Thread.

I learned a hard lesson that greens and pictures on websites aren't the same as a production model in a blister. Much prefer to see the models in person or a reveiw from someone who's bought and painted one. Over the years I've had quite a few miniatures come into the store that weren't very close to the nicely detailed greens or fantasticly painted demo models. Latest example was RBG. Red Box Games looked great here on dakka, but far different in person, and I've got several hundred dollars of stuff just sitting on a shelf for a year now.
Makes me gunshy sometimes in ordering. So I'm appreciative of reviews people put up.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

I have found it interesting that in all the GW finecast promo stuff... they never show a picture of the old version next to the new, finecast version. I mean... if you were going to try to convince me that all this extra money you're asking for is worth it... that would be the *obvious* comparison, right? At least I haven't seen anything like that on the GW web site.

As a result, I suspect that the finecasts aren't all that much better than a good copy of the old models. Better? Yes... but not as big a deal as they're making them out to be.

I really like the Mantic undead stuff, but my favourite has to 'Wet Nurse'.

Yes it's sick, but so brilliantly detailed it's not true....or maybe the FW Great Unclean One. All awesome mini's....

I haven't had the pleasure of seeing one in person, but the things smart max show off are astounding. They really seem to make the most of their scale and medium. (that awe-inspiring studio painter they have doesn't hurt either)
I do own some anima tactics models that are extraordinary as well. A couple of the ones that stand out to me are Cordelia for a great execution to a unique and fresh concept -she has legs sculpted under that dress too!-, Machiosas for having some great musculature and lots of attitude, and Griever for having so much motion captured in that one instant. Arkied also wins the award for the most fiddly model I have ever even heard of.

In my opinion Anima miniatures have problems with faces, though. I don't know if that changed since I last looked at them a year ago, but up until them most faces seemed...off. Especially the female ones.

I remember the old company attached to Rackham (their FW version) - I think it was called Fire Industries. I got their Dragon Titan and the Pumpkin Head ( http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-29892-8690_Pumpkin%20Head.html ).
Both Miniatures are extremely well detailed and came with almost no to none flash or mold lines. Sadly the company doesn't exist any more :(

Runnin up on ya.

Avatars of War. I have the Ogre Hero and love it.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Rackham and Avatars of War for me. Malifaux gets an honourable mention.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

I can second the Infinity vote, they are awesome in the flesh...really great miniatures.

Enigma are to fantasy, what Infinity is to Sci Fi....absolutely astounding sculpts.

Andrea Miniatures (30mm) are also great sculpts, very detailed and dynamic.

Hasslefree are really underated. the level of detail that guy gets in those miniatures is amazing.

I've bought the Sedition Wars miniatures from McVey, and I have to say, the metals are as GOOD as the resins....seriously, if there is any loss in detail, I haven't seen it, they are truely beautiful.

Dark Slave also make some great miniatures, they also make the stuff for Ron and Bones, but take a look at their Tale Revision range and their Tales of War range...really nice stuff.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Reaper is pretty decent, especially the larger stuff.

The Rackham minis (The metal ones, not the pre-paints) looked REALLY good, but IDK how they really are in-person.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

The OP said the "most" detail, so I'll have to go with the OOP Rackham metals. Their sculptors packed models with filigree, faces worked into armor, flasks and dead animals hung from belts...really superb stuff. I have noticed the back of the model often has just as much detail as the front. I hunted them down for over a year and after receiving them I would say 8/10, the sculpting would go beyond my already high expectations.

Yes I also put a vote on the Rackham Metal minis. I got their demon box (The Molochs) to substitute for Demon Princes and was totally blown away by the details on the wings alone
