Why have the plague marines and nurgle prince been taken down from the warhammer site?

Because they are being redone in Finecast I expect. And not sure what site you are looking on, but they are definitely still available from the UK GW site.

Probably more likely to be website shenanigans since they are in the process of getting rid of metal stuff. I would imagine that will entail a lot of the website having to be redesigned and repriced.

Both can be bought as Finecast from tomorrow on. Metal versions therefore retired.

I think they may be redoing them with all the upgrades, and then re-releasing them. I don't know where I heard this, but it still seems viable.

I know a good eye doctor who works for very reasonable prices if the patient is as sadly visually impaired as you seem to be, my friend. I'll PM you the phone number.

While the metal plague marines were not horrid, they were clunky, unremarkable and had ZERO options for weapons and modding. You might as well learn to deal with Greenstuff and do them from scratch based on regular CSM. Compared to FW's stylish and unique kits, they looked particularly mediocre.

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.

In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos.

Well, the old oop metal ones were, but the "new" metal ones...not so much IMO.

The thing about the current metal PMs is that they are just regular CSMs that were converted and used as masters. Not entirely original sculpts like the older ones were.

That and they are slightly cheaper than the more customizable FW equivalents.

That's true..
When I started my Death Guard (for the second time), I bought up quiet a few of the "New" metal boxes...wasn't thrilled with the sculpts in the least.
Upon discovering the FW conversion kits (and lucking into a large batch of the old OOP metal Plague Marines) I quickly sold off all of the current metal Death Guard I had.
