Yes, but unless the Tau player were a noob, they would split those broadsides into 2 units so that even if you do assault 1, the other can pwn you from far away.
At this point we're assuming that there is cover scattered throughout the board

There doesn't even need to be cover.
You deploy braodsides 4 feet away on your table edge, with clear LOS to eachother. I could win a shoot-off. If you assault one broadside, it will go *poof* and you will be in the LOS of the second, who will then make you go *poof*
It doesn't take that much creativity.

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

First, a table is only 72x48", and you still have to roll a 3 on 2d6 to pen and a 4+ to destroy and uhm... 4+ cover sv ftw!
