Hey fellas, I've had this list up in the DCM forum for a few days, but I'm looking for a little more feedback, so I'm going to post here as well. I haven't played in a tourney in a long time (like 8-10 years ago) and it was with Tau, when Tau were competetive. Anyhoo, I'm looking to get back into the tourney scene and I figure my Daemons are a better bet than my Tau. Lists are 2500 points using the 'ard boys format. Special Characters are OK, IA is not. Here's what I've got:

HQ
Kairos Fateweaver

Bloodthirster
Blessing of the Blood God, Unholy Might

Elites
4x Bloodcrushers of Khorne
Full Command

4x Bloodcrushers of Khorne
Full Command

4x Bloodcrushers of Khorne
Full Command

Troops
8x Pink Horrors
Bolt of Tzeench
1x The Changeling

10x Bloodletters

5x Plague Bearers

5x Plague Bearers

5x Plague Bearers

5x Plague Bearers

Heavy Support
Daemon Prince of Khorne
MoK, Wings, Iron Hide, Unholy Might, BoTBG

Daemon Prince of Tzeench
MoT, Wings, Iron Hide, Bolt

Daemon Prince of Nurgle
MoN, Wings, Iron Hide, Noxious Touch, Cloud of Flies

My general strategy is similar to the Tyranid "Nid Zilla" strat. Target saturation. Between the 4 combat MC's (Thirster + Princes) and the Fatecrusher Deathstar... they have a lot of nasties to worry about. My goal is to force the opponent to play me, instead of the mission, due to the high number of heavy duty threats on the table.

I know a lot of players spam MoT princes with bolt for transport popping, but I just find them to be too point heavy. It's much easier to let my Thirster hunt AV14 vehicles, since on the charge, he's going to pen it (a few times, usually). And my other MC's and even troops/elites can glance and even pen most transports (especially charging). Besides, the stregnth of Bolt of Tzeench basically requires side/rear armor to pen most battle tanks reliably, and I have trouble positioning these style princes for those attacks.

I want to work in some screamers of Tzeench. Probably just one minimum squad size squad. The threat of those turbo-boosting melta bombs should provide another target they -have- to deal with, else they take heavy casualties.

I also wouldn't mind working in Breath of Chaos and Sorceror upgrades to my MoT prince.

List right now stands @ 2496

Well, Fateweaver and Bloodcrushers are a must-have in a competitive setting.
I'd go with 3 khornate DPs since they are decent vs. GK while the other DPs can be (easily) killed outright.

Well if you're looking for Screamers pretty much the only thing you can do is drop 1 plaugebearer squad. All of the upgrades or units are kind of mandatory in competitive 2500 list, so I don't know how good of an idea it would be to drop that squad.
Either that, or drop 3 bloodletters.

I'm not really sure about the Deamon prince load out. There's to many combinations and different opinions about what is the best one. Pretty much just find a good one to combat the people you'll play at your tournament.

The problem with you Tzeeth DP is you are constructing them really expensively. Drop Iron hide from them, almost all weapons that make it through T5 will ignore your 3+ anyway. Also give it Gaze since S5 shooting can glance AV 11 and you can shoot 2 weapons anyway.

i would swap the Khorne DP for another Tzeetch or Nurgle DP.

Also, I would run 3x PB squads and increase the size of the 'letters or add another pair of horrors.

The reason to take a Tzeetch DP is to blow transports up not to kill AV 14....

What calypso said, X2. Keep in mind that Gaze will help even against those pesky Grey Knights since they are Marines. AP3 makes Marines cry.
