Well, I have been stewing over DMing a Deathwatch group, kicker is is that neither I nor the group I would be DMing have ever tried a d10 system game before, and there isnt an opportunity for me to play it aside from DMing it. I have played plenty of 3.0/3.5 Dungeons and Dragons as well as a decent amount of d20 modern. So do you guys think I should try this or should I try a different game, e.g. Rogue Trader or Dark Heresy?

EDIT:What is this silly thing you call grammar?

It's a real simple system, and all 3 games are good options (Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, Deathwatch)

However, deathwatch is closer to the old dnd style of having a mission and going to do it.

Ask your players, if all else fails just run simple starters of what they want, but be sure to tell them that dark heresy they start WEAK.

All three are good. Search through this sub-forum and you will see many good explanations of how the three differ and how they are the same.

Basically as stated Deathwatch is more DnD stle in that you are massive heroes with quests, Dark Heresy is more of an expolration investigation with death around every corner. Rogue trader is and adventure stlye game with a mix of both so youo are stronger but not as strong as a sphess mahrine, yet. I think Rank 1 RT character os about equal to a rank 5 DH chaaracter for reference

Currently debating whether to study for my exams or paint some Deathwing

Yes. Go and try it. It's a fun game.

And D10's won't make a huge difference. It's just a percentile system.

System doesn't matter that much. What matters is how much you and your players enjoy playing together and how good the setting is.
