Just wondering, because over the past year, I've been lucky enough to have had two jobs I seriously enjoy.
First one was working for GW in the Stores. Started off part time, redundancy loomed, and blagged my way onto the management course. Which I promptly failed. Absolutely loved that job, and it justs sucks the part time role went before the full timer did, or I'd still be there. Sure, the wages are pretty crappy, but the sheer enjoyment I got out of spreading the hobby made up for that. YMMV of course.
So now, after spending a pretty impressive 5 weeks unemployed (recession, what recession?) it turns out the training I got on the Course pays dividends in job interviews, and I got snapped up by an Insurance company, where I am now. Just been made Employee Of The Month for my department, and despite the reputation the industry has for being dull, if like me you're an argumentative sod by nature, I highly recommend it. Sure, the phonecalls can get depressing, and there's many a Policy Holder I wish to throttle with their own intestines, but a quick call to a Third Party Insurer trying it on, and one verbal 'Six-Nowt' thrashing later, and you're back on top of the world!
Anyone else in this enviable position of not actually despising their job? Tell us what you do as well of course!

My job varies from time to time. Me being only a softball umpire, it is really unpredictable. It sucks when you make the wrong call, and call someone out even though they should have been able to get to first base. Of course when I am good (90% of the time) I highly enjoy it.
Plus the pay is pretty good too! But what does this have to do with warhammer?

I design visuals, videos and projections for live events. Lots of theatre, a bit of opera, some live bands, fashion shows etc. The mix of different things keeps it interesting, I work for myself (which of course means that, due to job insecurity, I just say yes to anything that is offered!), and I get to travel. This year I've been to Germany, New York (and managed to squeeze in a trip to play the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in PA), Belarus, Spain and...um...WALES. Plus four or five different cities in England. By the end of the year I would have been in Lyon, Milan and Edinburgh. It can be crappy at times, when you find out that the show you've been designing is actually incredibly awful, but mostly it's a fun job....

I like my job, for the most part. Sure there are times when its a fething P.I.T.A. but most of the time its pretty easy with decent pay... and I like the hours (3rd shift). Been with the company for 12 years so I must be enjoying it.

I used to really enjoy my job, had people who didn't mind being there and I was blissfully unaware of the politics the managers played with eachother.
Now, everyone has left and I am stuck working with 16 year olds who don't show up half the time, and when they do show up, they are on their phone for two of their four hours....

Can't say I liked it in hindsight. I got fired about a week and a half ago for asking for the salary and commission I was promised a year ago (and the workload had increased by 50% since that promise) and for being sick three days in a row. Fun times.
I actually just got into something else today and I must say I like it.

I love my job. IT technician for the library district. Each day is usually different than the last so no real boredom accumulates. Right now we're setting up our brand new library so it can get hectic and frustrating at times but even the worst day is better than the best on many jobs I've had before.
I like and get along with all my coworkers and while some of the higher up directors can be a pain I rarely have to work with them.
I make more money than I need though that's more that I have a simple lifestyle than have a big paycheck, but never having to look at the checkbook or budget for the last six years is quite enjoyable.
My coworkers are all gaming geeks so we have lots to chat about while doing the drudge work and removes the tedium that could otherwise occur.
I think I'm very lucky to have the job I have and hope I'll retire from it one day.

I work for a Government Contractor doing graphic design for proposals for various training and capacity building, logistics, expeditionary construction, and operations and maintenance projects throughout the world, and primarily in the parts of the world where people wouldn't go if you paid them a million dollars.
I love my job, and it pays me very well.
By far the most rewarding job I've ever had in my life.
Plus, they hired me based on my PRINTING experience, which for a graphic designer is unheard of these days.
It makes me very happy that I don't feel like I spent 7 years of my life learning something I love to not use it in my career.

I can't complain, make more than minimum wage for standing around under a fan and waiting for people ask me questions. I like the fans because they keep me cool, I enjoy teaching people about the different consoles and all of their options. Sometimes I sell them a console and sometimes I advise them against it,either way I try to help them make the best choice. I deal with some real, uh, characters as customers sometimes but again I really can't complain. As Drew Carey says: "Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar."

Technically I'm a student, but between my research and my GA hours I work about 60 hours a week and get paid. The research is fun, and basically what I would be doing in a lot of my free time anyway, but the GA hours are pretty awful most of the time. Professors don't teach comp courses, GAs do, so I get to deal with the largest class sizes (last semester one was right around 150), the least motivated students, and often times outright idiots. Still better than my last job though, which worked out to about 100 hours a week when I had a lot of training clients.

Bless you. I am a printer and I do some design as well. But let me tell you that there are a LOT of graphic designers out there who don't have a clue about printing. Or about making a design that can even be printed.
I like my job, graphic designers make it a challenge.
I also do a lot of work for our local Halloween attraction, which is concentrated fun.

My first real job was under an Apprenticeship, and I was placed in a company that used me as an underpaid employee (clarification: my apprenticeship specified that employers taking apprentices for work-based sections of the apprenticeship were to provide them with work where they would learn skills similar to what the course taught, and learn from people higher up; which is why I was pulled out of the workplace early, since none of that criteria was being met). It was a small business in computer repairs, the boss was a :censored: who relied on everyone else to do everything because he couldn't, and then got pissed when you hadn't done the umpteen-thousand things he expected you to do at once.
Any mistake you made was relayed to you over and over as he explained not why it happened or how to remedy it, but simply that you made one.
Employees hated him (one guy walked out during my stay), he never paid wages on time, and after ~2 months of my last nerve fraying and me having to stop myself from beating the fether to death with whatever was in reach, I finally managed to complain to the people who ran the Apprenticeship and had placed me there (after I got a 2 week sick note from the doctor, who could see that I was close to some sort of meltdown), who gave me the green light to pull out whilst they sorted everything.
Getting the payment for the work i'd done there was difficult enough, and it gave me my first taste of what work is like, which was unfortunately a very sour one.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I enjoy my job, rather the hands-on portion of putting meat into boxes, shifting stuff around and looking at all the different goods people order during the year. I hate the gacking bosses who insist on not replacing the failing machines, Despite the fact that 3/4 of the time now, I walk in and the work floor is almost bare because the machines are stuffed.
Pays good, and the work load ain't too bad...I make ends meet.
