Probably not, besides warez, porn and tech groups IRC has been dead for years. IRC channels tend to have 2 people in them because basically no one who didnt grow up with computers in the 90s even knows what "IRC" is

Uh, IRC is not dead. Sure, it's in a lot of ways(for the more popular channels) a 'geek' thing, but I'm in one channel with over 900 people on 24/7, another with ~500, and so on.
Besides, we're dealing with 40k, WFB, etc. here, pretty niche/geek things.
