I really am looking forward to when this comes to the UK. All the hidden teaser stuff in previews etc have been great.

Been looking forward to this since Cloverfield... glad to hear its good, can't wait to see it (especially since it seems to be very USAF-centric).

As I understand it, its the late 70s in Ohio, a freight train is derailed in an accident (more like intentional suicide), the train happens to be carrying secured USAF freight cars containing material from Area 51 which is being closed down and whatever it is they were doing there relocated to Wright-Patterson AFB (in Ohio). Well, one of the 'materials' from Area 51 is an alien/paranormal entity of some sort, and it gets free and reeks havoc on the small town where the train was derailed, and the military shows up and tries to 'clean up' its mess, etc. oh and a bunch of kids who like making movies on their super 8mm cameras happen to catch everything on film...

I have been waiting a year to see it, ever since there were rumors there might be a prequel to Cloverfield in the works. You can definitely see the Spielberg in this movie.
Spoiler:
Yea the home movie in the clips is hilarious. The wife in the couple we went with agreed with my theory that the alien should have been terminated after the initial interrogation, that now they are going to come back and be pissed, and hungry.

Who here doesnt stay til after the credits for "hidden extras" anymore?

I will be waiting for this on DvD as I expect to be disappointed and refuse to pay $30 to see this in a decent cinema.

I liked everything except the climax, which I felt fell a bit flat. Or felt a bit rushed perhaps. The credits were gold though.

It gave me and my friends a big Cloverfield mixed with ET vibe. Which makes sense, considering the sources.

See thats why you need to be a Texan. I'd never eat the cheese served at movie theaters. Homemade queso is epically better.

@ OP - Cheers for the recommendation. It's not out in the UK for a few weeks (foolish Hollywood, don't they know we Brits will now pirate it off the internet ), but looking forward to blockbuster with a bit of heart.

Super 8 was great I really liked the kids. AND YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE CREDITS! OR ELSE YOU WILL BE MISSING OUT!

I loved the credits! That is the first time I have ever said that since Toy Story 2 with the outtakes

Super 8 was one of the best films i've seen in a long time. but the harry potter part 2 came out and i was like eh. not as good.

Super 8 was a very quick classic.

Why does this not suprise me (the fact that American's can get so much fried food in random places, not Warpcrafters location ).

Me, I'm happy with a medium sweet Popcorn and a medium soft drink that is so big that my bladder is straining at the hour & a half mark of any film.
