Space Crusade - Space Marines won.
Space Hulk - Space Marines won.
Final Liberation - Imperium won.
Chaos Gate - Space Marines won.
Rites of War - Eldar and Imperials unite to stop the Tyranids.
GorkaMorka - Orks would win (if the game wasn't cancelled).
Fire Warrior - Tau Empire & Space Marines team up to beat Chaos
Dawn of War - Space Marines ( except Winter Assault and Soulstorm where Imperial Guard won ).
Squad Command - Space Marines.
Dawn of War 2 - Space Marines ( with the exception of Retribution, but it seems that Space Marine campaign will be the canonical one in the end. )
Space Marine - ( we all know who will win ).

In almost all games Space Marines and the Imperium win. Whitch race would you like to won in future wh40k games. I would personally love to play as Tau FireWarrior in missions to protect the empire. But to fight off Orks, Tyranids, Dark Eldar and Necrons.

For Emperor and Imperium!!!!

But that won't give much of a chance to other races...
And I think it was stupid idea to do random campaigns for every race. Only to say in the end: "Space Marines won", it kills the mood...
They also don't need to include Imperium in every game...

Bearing in mind most of thsoe games you actually play as the Marines, hence why you win. If the game was you plaing as Orks then as Orks you'd be set to win.

No greater joy than winning. And gamers like winning. No point making a gamer play as the overall loser of a game - I certainly wouldn't feel like I've achieved glory if I played through only to find out I still lost anyway

From a money making perspective, yes they do.

That's the point. Let them made some game where you don't play as Space Marine... hence, even Imperial at all.
Would it be fun to play as an Ork and go killing and shooting all in humorous way

Dark Eldar should win. All the time. The dark kin never lose! Or if they do it's just one of Vects clever plots. But seriously, a game where you play as an dark eldar could be interesting.

Depends on how they do it, really. In Warcraft III, for instance
Spoiler:
as soon as you finish the Alliance campaign, you then annihilate two Alliance kingdoms and destroy a third former-Alliance kingdom.

Despite that, the it progresses the storyline and comes across really well. If, say, you played each faction in turn, you could win each time but only one might truly prevail in the end. When you think about it though, in Dawn of War
Spoiler:
the Space Marines win but release a Greater Daemon and planet is inevitably lost anyway. All you were fighting for was to evacuate civilians. The planet you could never save.

Exactly. I hate games where you play as the super soldier who kills everyone, I want a game where you can be the underdog. A conscript who charges valorously against impossible odds. And gets massacred. Seriously, how many games are there where you end up losing the war?

Unless it's a part of a series, then I would never want to play a game where you always lose at the end. Also, Red Dead Redemption and Modern Warfare 2 spring to mind, and I hated Modern Warfare 2, at least Red Dead was good throughout and had a decent ending.

I want a 40K video game something like this:

God of War style hack n' slash /w puzzles

Fable style "Good or Evil" decisions

In the end, you end up either a space marine, or a chaos marine.

Want more armor/health? Terminator / Obliterator!

Want more DPS? Assault Marine / Raptor!

Want spells? Librarian / Sorceror!

With a Knights of the Old Republic or Fable style leveling system, you could even determine if your marine was better at ranged or melee combat, and as a result, the game would have tons of replay value!

Well... that's my 2.50$ (damn inflation..)

two words...halo reach

There is, as mentioned somewhere above, Halo: Reach,
Spoiler:
where the planet you were fighting for even as a team of super soldiers and Marines was destroyed from space
and then there are the later CoD games, I believe,
Spoiler:
where you get killed by A) A random soldier shooting you (Which I believe was WaW), B) An officer betraying you (MW1, correct?), and C) The infamous "Nuke Scene." (Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't play much CoD)

Spoiler:
You don't get killed by the guy in WaW, Dimitri returns in BO. It was MW2 where the officer betrays you and that and the nuke scene both kill off "secondary" characters who aren't as important to the story.

The Space Marines win because their supposed to win. In the Eye of terror campaign Chaos players technically won because of their skill (look it up). this was gathered from thousands of after battle reports. GW might have been a bit ticked at that, but that was the result. In the DoW games i avoided playing the Imperials cuz i think they're an arrogant bunch of dicks.
