Personally... I wouldn't. If you want to try, though, you'll likely want to make an armature. Just take some wire (gauge depending on the planned length and thickness of bolts), bend a few lengths to the desired jagged shape, then sculpt your GS around them. Once dry, break out the files to sharpen up some edges and you'll be ready to paint.

Use thin floral wire then bend and paint appropriately.

Same as sculptig greenstuff fire, only paint it white/yellow/blue.
A rough jagged shape, then pull at that shape with tweezers.

I would further recommend that you use some form of wire bent into shape, as this will look (although stylised, but hey this is warhams, everything is stylised) more like lightning and be much easier to work with.

Take a smooth flat surface.
Roll out some GS.
Wait for it to cure a little bit.
cut out appropriate lightning type shape.
Enjoy.
Simple, stylized and effective.
Making an armature for GS would be good as well. twits the wires so the GS has something to grab hold of and to stop it twisting round whilst being worked on.

When I've done lightning in the past I've used small plant roots as there nice and thin and random .

I did this lightning on the psychic eagle construct for my librarian dreadnought. I used small gauge floral wire and bend it into all kinds of off angles. I looked at some pics of lightning and tesla coils and those Eye of the Storm things to get the right feel, first.
Just have about 3 pieces of wire, all bent out of shape (or into the shape you want, rather), and add a small bit of putty or greenstuff to different places along the length of the wire, and smooth it into the wire. This will make the lightning line created by your wire feel more natural, and frankly, less like just a wire sticking out of a hand or something.
Paint it up appropriately, and make sure to paint it up as a light source with source lighting, and you should be good to fry some humies.
