Hey all,

I'm entered in a conversion contest this weekend at my FLGS. Theres just a slight problem. I have no idea what to convert

The rules are simple. You have a half hour to take a new GW kit and using the stores bitz box, make the most awesome conversion possible.

I'm thinking the best thing to do would be to convert some kind of Ork buggy out of a Piranha, but I'm not sure if its feasible or not.

Any suggestions I could get about good candidates for conversion would be greatly appreciated!

Just my 2 cents

you could make a whole vehicule out of various guns and equipment if your going ork style! Because im sure that will be the major part of that bitz box.

either than that, I can't do much because i have no idea what will be in there You'll probably get a flash of genius on the spot.

Im sure you can pull something awesome off good luck

Just had a thought

How good of an idea is a sentinel converted to an Ork Deffkopta? Like I was thinking it would be sweet to build the cab as normal, and then extend one of the legs off the back of the cab as the tail boom, make some rotors out of random bits, throw on the rokkits and a buzzsaw and put it on a flying base

Honestly with irks, as long as it looks ramshackled and completely held together my hopes and prayers to GorkaMorka you'll be alright.

Just let your imagination go wild. Ork stuff is pretty easy because you can pretty much take Anything and throw it on hah.

I do like the idea of a War buggy out of a pihrana, just get your set, take a quick look and then go glue happy and build something sweet

Best Of Luck!!! Cheers

Or a Sentinel converted into a warbuggy - the store bits box is pretty likely to include some wheels to loot.

You're allowed to start with _any_ one kit? Starting with the ork battlewagon kit would seem a really good start for almost any sort of ork vehicle. Depends on what the competiton is being judged on though... turning a non-orky kit into an orky model would be more impressive to judges perhaps.

Another issue I have with starting with the battlewagon is the sheer cost of the kit. I'm loathe to drop that much to build a model for a competition. I also would think that converting a buggy would be cool, I'm just not sure if a sentinel is the right vehicle to use for it

I think your sentinel turned kopta would be your best chance. Thats not only incredibly Orky, but Ive honestly never seen that done.

So sentinel kopta it is. I'll post up the results when its done

Thanks to everyone that voiced an opinion!

Half an hour doesn't seem like a whole lot of time to do a big conversion.

An easy sentinel conversion could work for that time frame, depending on how fast you work. I'd think some sort of infantry would work out easier. Up to you though. Good luck!

i tought of something over the week end, even if its too late i would have done maybe also a Deffcopta out of a up-side down SM drop-pod with the flaps open and such. would kind of look like a metal paracute with a mix of helicopter and hot air balloon .

Even if I dont play Ork, I might just make one for the lol of it
