http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/CARMINE_DRAGON.html

Sometimes known in dark legend as Encarmine Dragons, Carmine Dragons are strange and rare beasts even amongst their storied kin; born, it is said, when a dragon's lair is saturated by the Amethyst wind of Death, the power of Shyish gathering and magnifying within the heart and soul of the beast yet to hatch.

The Carmine Dragon is named for its scales, which darken from a deep, ruby red when young to a purple so dark as to be almost black when they age, and many ancient tales hold them as spectres of death.

Complete resin kit that stands 8" (203mm) tall and has a 5" (125mm) wingspan. Carmine Dragon model designed by Trish Carden.

I think Tim is more appropriate. Or Sparky.

On a different note, is it me or does £55 for that actually sound like quite good value (comparatively speaking) when compared to some of the plastics coming out for SoM or the existing dragon kits?

Not sure about good value tbh
I could get at least two 1/72 resin Harrier jumpjet kits for the same price and have enough change for aftermarket decals.
A Hawker Kestral and a T2/4 is higher on the wish list too.

They would be roughly the same size as the dragon
Not trying to incite conflict, just trying to put the price into a personal perspective.
This is looking like a top design from the picture above.

I did clarify it by saying that was compared to other GW monsters; but I get your point.
When I first saw the photos of it, I was expecting it to be in the same sort of ball park as the Keeper of Secrets; if not more so as it's taller and looks to be a bit bulkier. Compared to *that* it's a bargain

It's the same one? Married name I think.

It proves she can sculpt very well, it's a lovely mini. I wonder just how rushed she was for those other things...

$88 is too much for me, specially since I'd never use it in a game. I'd love to paint it though, but I have so many other projects going I'd just never get to it :(

We'll be able to figure it out with the next White Dwarf, apparently she's being interviewed in it by Andy Hall about Storm of Magic.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Morrison, but it does remind me of some of her works before--namely the times whenever you see the stuff she's sculpted for herself and had years to work on.

I really like this dragon. Excellent sculpt and wonderful detail. The wings could be a bit larger, but I'm not overly concerned with the wing:body ratio. Being resin, it will be lighter and easier to work with than the Reaper Dragons (metal).

The price is on-par with the larger of Reaper Mini's Dragons, too. Compare it to Blight Fang or Garuth (Although Garuth is larger, and still my favorite.)

I think this model is excellent. I cant help but wonder about the timing though. I mean they are just about to launch a plastic line of monsters and then the Warhammer Forge get to release this. Also as a side note isn't this the oft photoed model that people have been seeing for years? Anyway the WH plastic dragons can go fish, I'm getting one of these.

That has always bothered me about dragons (and angels). It's an immediate turn-off if the wings are comically too small to be believable.

But they don't fly properly. They jump up and land again in the move phase. Personally I dont see how it can take off with it's tail wrapped around that tree stump. What really gets my goat is skaven tails, rat tails don't have rings, and their teeth are orange not white. And anyway there's no way those legs could hold up a beast that size. Someone should take them GW lot to the Natural History Museum to look at dinosaurs. Maybe they'll even find a few fossil forum posts like "that dragon cannot even fly".

Yes, but the Heresy one is at least twice as much (probably more in the future, preorder price was 100 pounds) not to mention unlikely that those on the preorder list will all see theirs inside of 2011 (imho) let alone anyone else thinking of ordering one...

This one's great, and actually possible to get

I, too, wonder why it looks so much better than the preview pics of her Storm of Magic monster sculpts...
