So I've been interested in Warhammer for a bit and decided to try and make an starting army. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Heroes:
Exalted Champion - 155 (? I think i added that up right)
• MoK - 40
• Shield - 10
• Axe of Khorne - 25
• Enchanted Shield - 10
• Biting Blade - 5

Sorcerer - 160
• MoN - 20
• Steed - 15
• Chaos Familiar - 40
• Enchanted Shield - 10
* Not sure which lore to give him.

Core:

12 Chaos Warriors - 196
• MoK - 40
• Shields - 12

12 Chaos Warriors - 196
• MoK - 40
• Shields - 12

20 Chaos Marauders - 140
• Shields - 20
• Flails - 20

10 Chaos Warhouds - 60

5 Chaos Knights - 190
• MoK - 40
• Chosen - 10

Total - 1,067


I came up with this list from what comes in the Battalion, added Heroes and another unit of Chaos Warriors to meet the Core unit requirement. I'm looking for an army size of maybe 1,500 max ( any suggestions for starters point limit would be great ). Also I want something that is good for casual play, fun and not 100% competitive but can still win a game lol. I plan to go down to my local game store/hobby shop tomorrow and try to get some in-person help, but anything you guys can contribute is more then welcome!

Ok so what happened with the champ there that is not right at all.
mok is not 40 pts on him ax of khorne is 45 pts
e shield is 15 pts.

Try this for a hero
Hero
mot talisman of endurance
charmed shield
halberd
iron curse icon
bsb

Makes him 189 pts unless I missed something and he is beastly beastly very beastly.

If you mark a choas sorcerer he take the lore of the mark as in mon means lore of nurgle mot measn lore of tz mos lore of slaanesh.

No duplicate magic stuff like enchanted shield.

For a sorcerer um something with a ward save and enchanted shiedl would be good biting blade so he has some more damage.

Knights are 40 pts a piece so 5 knights is 200 pts base.

Drop the shield on the marauders they are pointless.

Warriors are more expensive and isnt mok 30pts?

mok with halberd and shield is more effective also fc never hurt atleast standard and musician.

I dont usually play anything lower than atleast 2200 so im not the best at what lords heroes would work the best at this level but i like the bsb hes mean.

Even if you don't take a champion, a Standard and a Musician are a must.

It's very possible. I did a quick google for the book last night and just used that as a reference.
