Well done for having a go with a wash, it looks like you put a lot more effort into them than a lot of people do to their first models.
I think the first thing you need to do is get a smaller brush and try to practice using a ittle less paint. This will help you keep the paint in the desired area and will make details clearer.
The bases are nice. They would be greatly improved if you could tidy up the edges by removing the excess sand and painting it to remove the paint splashes

Thank you for the comment, are you suggesting to paint the bases, if so what colour do you recommend?

Any brown or black would work. Just to neaten them up a bit. Running a knife around the edge before painting would also help to remove any sand that overhangs the edge.

I really like the colours you have chosen and the paint is not too thick which is good for someone new to painting minis. The metal bits are also pretty good, they look nice and beat up.
Remember you can correct your mistakes, maybe try and paint over the bits where you have went over the lines. All in all this is a good tabletop force, the fantastic basing adds alot to it imo.

I've seen long-time painters not get the results you have here. Keep at it and you'll be producing some stunning models! Very well done, very clean lines, perfect color scheme. Would question the Khornate icon on the helm of a Word Bearer, though. Other than that, stunning work!

A question, are you dipping your brush in water before you put it in the paint or just going from pot to mini, if not you should try to wet your brush and then dip into the paint, doing this will thin the paint down and make it easier to control. Automatically Appended Next Post: Otherwise they look pretty good, also the melta-gun marine, should have the handle clipped and put to his hand, but still for a first time painter, this looks like a great start, your basing is better than most of moddlers I have seen and played with. Great job, keep it up.

If your hand is shaking try resting your wrist against a desk to steady it. If this fails put the brush down and take a 5 minute break. When you come back it should be easier.
