Does it annoy anybody else that Rhino models are too small , I mean, I know the scale of things isn't entirely accurate but theres no way you would fit 10 space marines in one, not with all the crew/engine/gubbins etc. especially if the marines carry heavy weapons. The model should be more - well - Land Raider sized. And maybe Land Raiders need to be a bit bigger too. Any other models not the right size?

I've thought about that several times. When I had never seen actual 40k models (before I started playing), I thought a land raider was shoe box sized

Hell, DE Raiders can barely fit a single guy on the deck with the sail and Venoms have virtually no space.

Could be worse:

The old ork trukks are real clown cars compared to the new ones. They are small enough that four orks could pick one up and carry one. I use mine as warbuggies these days.

Think of them without their bases, and the models fit a lot better. There are diagrams folks have made that show it actually is completely possible for 10 Marines to fit inside, even if they're not terribly comfortable. The Rhino is based off the M113 APC that the US used in Vietnam, which also held a squad of guys in painfully tight conditions.

Yes the model scaling is way out of wack, but could you imagine, having to assemble 4 rhinos the size of Land Raiders and land raiders the size of baneblades?!

Try transporting those around to games and then even fitting them on the table!

It is what it is.

I always figure that the power armour lets them fold up like chairs and then they can easily fit. Plus since they have to unfold when they get out being why they can't assault out of Rhinos

My grandfather drove one of those around after the war (working at naval research labs). He explained in detail how crappy they were. A bullet would fly right through the armor and spray shrapnel all over the APC, making it fundamentally a 'box of death'. Apparently they were fun to drive though! The resemblance between the Rhino mk1 and the M113 is uncanny

Incidentally, so was a Rhino during 2nd ed: Your transport dies, everything inside dies, too.

Considering that vehicles were vastly over-complicated in 2nd edition, and not as easy to crack open, that sounds about reasonable
