I love Brother Tycho, for a variety of reasons. First, he's no-assembly-required. Second, he's got a lot of lovely detail. Third, he actually already came with a combi-melta, so I didn't have to convert him.

Fluffwise, Gabriel Seth.

In fact, model-wise too, Gabriel Seth.

Deciding that, with his chapter on the brink of extinction, instead of being remembered as bloodthirsty savages, he wanted them remembered as noble heroes. Now the Flesh Tearers dive into just about any fight they can find.

Big fan of Bjorn Fell-Handed myself. Just something about him being, like, the most-venerable of Venerable Dreadnaughts.

I'm a fan of Dark Angels. I don't know what it is about the fully robed marines which block 90% of the detail, but I like them. I've always liked DA because they seem the most sinister chapter and had the more interesting backdrop.

The Force Commander, Sergent, and the hard to get LE Force Commander really are nice minis.

Azrael.... not his model though. Never was too fond of it.

My most favorite Astrates model has got to be Captain Shrike. a major badass.

Crimson Fists are my favorite loyalist chapter, as I can still paint my boys blue without Internet folks whining about me having Ultramarines! Also, their fluff is pretty fleshed out so there's some cool backstory going on.

For Chaos, Iron Warriors are my favorite. The conversion packs from GW make for some really cool and distinctive models, Their fluff is cool too, and Storm of Iron is a good read. Also, caution stripes are cruise control for cool.

I am not a Space Marine player, but in my opinion the Canis Wolfborn from the Space Wolves is the absolutely best looking model EVER in the Space Marines range.
If I was to start a a new army I would probably start a Space Wolves chapter.

On a boat, Trying not to die.

Marneus Calgar. He has the best fluff, the best gear, and the best rules in the game. Period.

Marneus has lived for a very long time, and during those years, he has Punched an Avatar of Khaine so hard, that it died. That's an astounding feat, along with the fact that held of an Eldar invasion for a very long time. He is the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines, the greatest chapter to have ever graced the galaxy. Worls tremble beneath their mighty boots. Read any Ultramarines book my the two best authors in Black Library history, C.S. Goto and Mat Ward. They are gods among men.

Calgar has some of the best equipment! He has a pair of AP2 bolters. Yes. AP 2 Assault Bolters. These babies are just the thing for when you assault with the best weapons in history, the Gauntlets of Ultramar. These twin powerfists are so badass, that he can even wield a sword with them! And he has a built in teleport homer, TDA for the same cost as a storm shield, and a fething 4++ invul save. But his 2+ armor save is more what you'll use, as Marneus will have already blown up all weapons that could pierce his armor by simply looking at them.

And his rules, oh my god his rules. They are the best out there. He has EW, a non-necessary rule, as he has T5 and four wounds. He also can control all leadership tests for his side of the field, an amazing trait not found in codexes anymore. He aslo can call down an orbital strike, take a ride in a Drop Pod, and even have three honor guard units! THREE! That's thirty of the second best choice in he entire C:SM! (First being Marneus, of course.)

Edited because my love for Marnues has caused me to be so focused on him that I made a few spelling mistakes.

Anyway, I hope this has enlightened you to the amazingness that is Ultramarines. Everyone loves them! They even have half of the Special Characters in the marine codex! If they weren't totally awesome, then why do they get themselves on the cover of the book?
