I've been playing for a few months now and I've come to realize that I HATE razorback/rhino spam and Long Fang spam. I love the Wolves and I use them but I feel like a lot of Wolf players just use the same tactic. Yea it may work but be original! I do use 1 rhino and 2 Long Fang Packs. But not all with MLs. Does any one else use an army and hate when large groups of people spam the same list?

My Space Wolves are built from the old codex and I focused on big units of Wolf Guard Terminators with rerollable 2+ armor saves due to runic charms or whatever they were called. The army isn't mechanized in the slightest and is more or less a footslogging barbarian horde. Metagame, I spit at thee.

I built 2x twin linked autocannon dreadnought using the Aegis Defense Line back when Planetstrike hit, and all my friends and I thought it was a fun unit and something of a joke. Now they show up in most competitive lists in one variety or another. Kind of funny that they became such a mainstay.

I have a regular marine list and for 2500 points i can fit 5 razorbacks, 1 land raider and 1 predator the true meaning of armored assualt space marines (and 2 dreads and 1 terminator squad)

But to make a lascannon plasma get a lascannon using the twinlinked lascannon and get rid of the lascannon glue two plasma guns and there ya go twinlinked plasma lascanon

You know how if you say a word so many times in a short span of time it loses all meaning? Yeah.

I dont mind if it's for a tournament since people want to win and thus bring their best list. For casual games it's a bit much....
different strokes for different folks i guess...

I don't mind playing against either of the armies in the OP. They're just the FOTM, soon some new codexes will come out and the codex hoppers will move on to their next abomination.

To answer your question, no, I love it when everyone spams the same list. It makes it much easier to find the flaws in their strategy, and much easier to counter their business.

Longfang razorspam is just a product of the book's pricing structure. Same as how no one I know runs blood claws because point for point grey hunters are just so much better. And I have never seen skyclaws or bikeclaws.

You can make winning spacewolf lists without razors and longfangs, but you will have a lot less shooting in your list for excluding those choices.

This. For tournaments & competitive games people don't expect fluff but expect the most hardcore, competitive list a player can think of, so I can understand the use of Razorspam there, although it's not very original.

For friendly games however I really dislike it as it's just so unimaginative and doesn't really suit the Wolves IMHO, nor is it exactly a fun list for your opponent.

Personally, I offer advice to others about Space Wolf tactics, but I choose not to offer advice regarding Long Fang 'spam' or Razorback 'spam' lists due to my personal opinion.

It's worth noting however that Razorspam arguably isn't the most effective list with the Wolves, but it's probably the most forgiving, as are most net lists IMHO.

Skyclaws are pretty darn good with a Wolf Priest and i've used swiftclaws before but i really didn't like them.

So my problem exists with poeple not shutting tournament mode off. I have no problems with people playing competitive lists, and even testing them out prior to a tournament.

My problem is when you play a game against someone that wants to run the 9 venom/blastervarmy from hell with little or no regard to the fun of the game or even trying to make it enjoyable for them. It's not cool when you table your opponent by turn two. Sure, you may have had fun doing it, but was it really a game and do you really expect to play that person in the future? At the end of the day its a social hobby, and making it a fun game forbyour opponents normally means you don't run out of opponents.

Tournaments are one thing, but friendly games are another. Try new units, try new strategies and have fun. You don't always have to win to enjoy a game...

And if you DO have to win to enjoy the game, I recommend magic the gathering or something with a more frequent tournament schedule so that level of discourse is accepted

That seems like a case of miscommunication. If he said "I'm bringing this tournament list" with the intention that you'd bring one too, that's fine. In fact, I enjoy that sort of game once in a while.

Ths past weekend, after a tournament, I got to play a fun list.

However, the standard at my LFGS for me is the competitive players tossing test lists at my SW army to see how they play. I enjoy shutting down their lists and we always have a good tactics talk afterwards.

I have been asked by, "wannabe" competitive players for games who just field completely terribad lists and then call cheese on my non-Razorspam list when it tables them completely.

So I am either gaming my tourney list against other tourney lists or being challenged on my tourney list by crap players playing a crap list.

It's called "Douchebag Spam".

Whoever taught them how to get on the interwebz needs an asswhipping.

I used to rave about Rifleman Dreads simply because I loved how cool they looked, like a walking mountain of dakka. Then 4ed came along and made them way above the 'worth it' line

Psyrifle dreads are the new rifle dread. Hahahahahahaha!

Very much agreed with sir! I watch battle reports online to see different tactics but i won't watch any with Douchebag Spam. It really just irks me!

Current meta is to bring mass light tanks? Counter with mass infantry and... more mass infantry, with powerfists.

Or just play guard.
