This may be the wrong place to post this, but can a Sniper Drone team cloak or not? I've only been in 40k stuff for a few weeks, so I'm a complete novice when it comes to gaming. I'm entering a local competition that's based on painting the finecast stuff, and I wanna know if these guys can cloak because it'd give me an idea for a paint scheme

Thanks in advance =]

If you mean by "cloak" "get invisible by some technical means", then no. Only Stealth Suits can.

Tau Sniper Drone Teams have Stealth fields. It's in the Tau codex.

Moving thread to YMDC.

Sniper Drone teams have a stealth field generator, which follows the rules as outlined on page 27 of the Tau codex.

thanks for moving it

So I could paint the models "cloaked" straight out the box, or would I need to source a stealth field generator?

again, complete noob with the Tau, sorry if it's a stupid question haha

Or are the individual units equipped with personal ones?

Not sure what you mean by paint them 'cloaked' But yes they have a stealth field and are 'cloaked'. There are no rules on painting (other than the rule of cool )

They have a stealth generator built in as standard equipment, so if you want to paint them to look like they have a stealth field going you can do so.

The unit has the special rule and cannot remove it or otherwise edit it. You don't need to paint a unit to prove what rule it has, but you are welcome to paint your models as you see fit.

I do strongly advise you not to paint them with invisible paint, though.

I still can't find one of my Stealth suits that I did that too.
