On a boat, Trying not to die.

Either Maple Syrup or Maple Syrup.

I have been known to chug bottles of maple syrup as a dessert. Sure, it's a expensive dessert. But that Grade B goodness going down your throat... Mmm! Delicious!

You know, I've had a lot of crazy good desserts, but I always come back to Chocolate chip cookies and a glass of ice cold milk. It's just so simple and good.

Wow, guys, those all sound good.

@chowderhead: you can't go wrong there.

@snurl: me too, they're so good.

@blitza: me too, I love fresh baked cookies, and I love gummies, as long as they don't have those sour sugar crystals.

@avatar: those sound good, I love baked apples, with cinnamon, I have to try that.

@andrew1975: sometimes, simplicity is what makes something good, I love chips ahoy and a cup of ice-cold milk.

No, it's not

I just like to learn about how others do things, but I am writing these down, dessert is my favorite meal, I like chopped strawberries, with sugar sprinkled on them, and placed on top of a shortcake bowl, or fortune cookies.

As for me, I have an insanely sweet tooth (if it was up to me, I would have dessert with every meal, and meals would consist of 2 dessert courses).

My top 5 are:
Lemon Meringue
Welshcakes (these only seem to be available in Wales, but they are essentially like biscuit/cookie shaped cakes that contain raisins/chocolate chips etc and sprinkled with sugar)
'Boiled Cake' (it's a Welsh Thing, it's essentially a fruit cake, but it involves the boiling of some of the ingredients first)
Key Lime Pie
Birthday Cake (for the icing)
Stollen (German xmas marzipan thingy)

Cheese cake is good, especially when it's topped with berries in syrup, or chocolate. Cake can be good, as long as it's not to dry, sadly, I do the cooking, since my beloved is, well, awful in the kitchen. As long as the cake is moist and soft, it's good enough for me.

Back in England there was a company called "Millie's Cookies" i think, and they used to make these huge pizza sized soft cookies that would have icing and Smarties on top and would function like a horribly addictive birthday cake in our family. it was rare for one to last longer than an hour once it got home.

I just wish they had those out here.

Yeah my brothers Mrs got him one for Chrimbo last year and he showed it off to the rest of us (3 other bros and a bro-in-law). It did not last long.

Sainsburys do a Pecan, Maple Syrup and white choc one at certain points in the year - awesome.

I also recently discovered Honey Roasted Almonds and Macademia Nuts (in salt and suger) in the supermarket - arrrrrrrgle!

I also have a real weakness for candy cigerettes/sticks and Fangs.

Damn I have to lose some weight!

As a thank you to one of my favorite communities and as an attempt to appease the moderator-god Malfred, I offer the single best brownie recipe this side of hell.
The measurements are "U.S." measurements so seek conversion help if you're from some god-forsaken place like Australia where a cup isn't really a cup.
Feel free to copy down the recipe and distribute as you see fit BUT make sure you credit me with "from some loon on the dakka boards."

Forbidden Brownies

Ingredients
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter (melted)
1/2 Cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 Cup unsweetened dark cocoa powder
3/4 Cup sugar
1/2 Cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 large eggs (at room temp)
1 Teaspoon vanilla
3/4 Cup flour
1/4 Teaspoon salt
1 Cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 Cup white chocoolate chips
1 cup Walnuts, chopped
20 soft caramel squares

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, melt the caramel squares along with 2 tablespoons of water. A microwave works well for this. Set this bowl aside.
3. In another large bowl, mix together the melted butter and both cocoas. Mix until there are no lumps.
4. Add suger to cocoa mixture, mix well.
5. Add eggs and vanilla to cocoa mixture, mix well.
6. In yet another large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add to cocoa mixture and mix well.
7. Add chocolate chips and walnuts to mixture, mix well.
8. Spread mixture into lined dish.
9. Drizzle melted caramel over top of batter and using the tip of a knife, swirl the caramel into the batter.
10. Bake for 30 mins. Brownies will be too soft to test with a tooth-pick or anything else. Let brownies cool in the pan.

Enjoy!
