It was a pretty good game, I wasn't playing so I could focus my full attention on filming it and taking pics. We were goin for sortof a sunset kinda look. Any questions feel free to ask, I'd love some feedback. We went with the suggested 25% terrain coverage and opted to go for a lot of big line of sight blockers. It definitely makes for a more interesting game.

Assault Marines in a Salamanders army!? Tsk tsk! You should know that their homeworld has fluctuating gravity and training those guys is near impossible! Land Speeders and Bikes are almost as rare, but slightly more common.

Very nice armies though! I definitely like those Assault Terminators. Nice spikes on their backs! The Imperial Guard Tanks look really nice as well. I love the Leman Russ.

Rough man. Salamanders' Turn 3 was a lot of "...and killed the whole squad...", and the IG Turn 3 was a lot of "...and did nothing"

That'll make or break ya.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

it definately does, but twinlinked heavy flamers tend to do that to guardsmen

Great report.

I usually find video reports too boring, but you kept the pace up, and narration was short and to the point. Very nice.

Beautiful armies and table. Overall a fantastic report.

If I have one criticism, it's that the video takes too long to get going. What a mate and I have found out is you can just deploy, then start filming, state mission and deployment, point out objectives, say what's in your army as you point out its starting position. We think it grabs people a bit more if there are models on a table from the start. I can see you want to be as clear as possible on what's what, but really no-one is going to be taking the time or paying close enough attention to what terrain counts as what - you can just skip that sort of thing. Hope that helps, sorry if I sound a bit bossy.

Great battle report, it looked like a really fun game, which is what I like to see!

I also loved your board, I play with my brother on a flat table with a few boxes, really need to get me some cool buildings like those xD

I agree it does take a little time to get going. We've certainly realized that our battreps were dragging on way too much so there's been an effort to be more concise and try and keep them under 15 minutes. I appreciate the feedback.

The primary reason we've chosen to include the additional terrain information is because we feel the critical problem with 40k currently is that not many people seem to follow GW's suggestions in the terrain section of the rulebook. I rarely see people actually discuss terrain pre-game and the problem is until you discuss and agree how to define certain terrain features they really don't have a rule set, you get a lot of "well where I play we usually do it this way". When karl (IG player) explains we're playing the forests as area terrain BUT we're treating it as impassable to vehicles or we're treating the ruins as ruins however you cannot melt through walls and must find a hole or a door these are important things to understand. From a continuity stand point it will help indicate why a player may have maneuvered his forces in a certain way (or may have chosen not to). We really just want to underline how important defining terrain is to the game and also how important having 25% terrain coverage really is. We all pretend 40k is a pickup game but I know myself I fear playing people who've picked up bad habits like melting through walls or recognizing that certain positions are un-assaultable.

The second reason we start with a bare table and a wide shot is so the viewer can get an unobstructed look at the table so that when we later move to tighter shots of the game the viewer doesn't feel too lost.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

Excellent report, nice and concise. That is the perfect amount of terrain, none of this open field stuff you seem to see a lot these days.

We need more reports like this; clear images, steady camera, a cuss word here and there for effect, and a rampant landspeeder that refuses to go down; even if it doesn't manage to do anything.

The salamanders look good, and LUTNIT's guard has always been awesome.

This battle had a great look to it through the great paint jobs on both sides and the board. Awesome game.

Through are games we have found it very important, although could seem a bit tedious to others, to fill a quarter of the board with terrain, usually about half the stuff LoS blocking.

This creates a very fun tactical game play. Recently we have also been toying with some new methods of game setup. We roll a scatter dice to dertermine the angle the terrain is placed on. Then we d6 to see who places the first piece and alternate. After terrain has been deployed we d6 to see who picks sides and deploys first. the catch to this is the person whose going second and deploying second gets to choose the deployment type. So far this has proven to be very interesting definately adding to the experience of the game.

Thanks alot to everyone for commenting and enjoying the video, hopefully we wil beable to give you more soon.
