I bought one and I'll be putting him together tonight at the Seattle Bunker. Before I do, I'd like to know how you guys are kitting this guy out for your SoM battles. Are there any preferred ways? Are there any things I should avoid at all costs?

Well I made mine so that I can take the rider off of the Manticore. And i gave mine a shield and halberd, just because of the coolness lol.

Can you fit a dark elf on that with ease?
I thought it was silly that a monstrous mount for 2 armies only included riders for 1.

Nice I would go shield and that massive halberd thing.
Maybe could be difficult but if you have a dark elf sadle might be able to pull it off.

I think they mentioned in the blog about how easy it was to switch DE and WoC riders out, I'm not sure though as I havn't tried it myself.

I find it silly that the Manticore does not look anybetter than the old DE one....

Okay, I got started on the model. I went ahead and equipped the helm, sword and shield on the Lord. The sorc only had options for the face so I went with the Palpatine look.
I don't have a WoC book so maybe someone can check real quick for me, can the Lord take a Juggernaught? I ask because I have one that I bought for a conversion that I wound up not doing. If he can, I'll just assemble it and keep it aside as an "option" should I ever do WoC.

GW sell a model for it so he should be able to ride a jugger.
Edit: Just checked both lords and heroes can ride 'em provided they have MoK.

Ya the lord and hero can ride a jugger.
I suggest trying one since you will have a 1+ armor save without a shield on a jugger.
That and khorne lords are a fancy way of saying meat grinder.

Manticore for SoM without rider (it's a summoned monster), manticore for WoC with Lord (sorcerers die to fast  ).
