I recently found out that there is an large Independant store near my house, Dark Sphere.
I was hoping that people could share their experiences, so that I can gauge whever to go.

I've used them online and they were pretty good. Two larger orders that required them to order in stock, other was a smaller order and it was sent out pretty quickly. And there communication is pretty good online as well. But never been to the store.

I pop into the store regularly - they have a couple of gaming tables and scenery (though it's a small store!). The best thing about them is their variety of stock - they carry an awful lot of non-GW stuff, including stocking MaxMini parts, Forgecraft bases, better value GS.

Because the store is also their warehouse for the online sales, they always tend to have a lot in stock, too....

Count yourself lucky, the only store near me is a GW. The FLG is mainly into magic and doesnt really sell much GW stuff besdies the models, which arent much cheaper

Bought a fair amount from them online. One of the several transactions I had ran into a few problems, but they got solved in the end, so probably just a blip. Been in store, nice enough people, good range.

Yep, I've been there too. It's not like a normal shop where things are priced up. You find the item you want and they look up the price on their system. Makes it hard to browse IMHO, but aside from that very minor inconvenience, they have some pretty hefty discounts. Think Blood Knights are ridiculously overpriced at £60? Darksphere do them for closer to £40. If you live near them, you will never have to set foot in a GW store again.

Nice! I was hoping to get some non GW stuff anyway but do you think that they will stock stuff that needs to be ordered at a GW? Thanks

Google Darksphere and look at their product list. They stock a lot of things, but it should be stressed, they don't stock everything and probably not Direct Only.

i try and order from them as much as possible, man 25% off of gw prices is to good to pass up!

Never been to the store but I've ordered several times and they've become my first choice.

Always really great on the phone (even in the middle of their move where everything was going wrong) and the guy who answers the phone can generally ID you from your order contents.

yeah, They are two minutes from my office at work and except for direct only items and the occational preorder from GW, I go there for everything now.

They also have a nice selection of boardgames and I'm very tempted to start DND because that looks cool and well stocked.
