Hands down.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

Yup. Got a can of silver spray paint? You're done.

You can do some washes, if you're fancy.

Was probably going to say space marines because you can paint them nearly anyway you like and still look good.
Completely forgot about necrons though, so yeah, Necrons...
Shortest thread ever? Can't really debate that xP

DOUH!!!

Jajaja... can you forgot that!!!... jajaja.
But the necrons are easy to paint only if you don`t have a little of imagination, my necrons have a very pretty oxid color and when I play in a clear day, change from silver to orange... is a very simple effect, but is really impressive

I've seen some awsome necrons. this is true for any mini. done right they will look beautiful (or terrifying if you prefer to not think on necrons as pretty)... but for standard table top... prime black, some silver and dot the eyes green BAM tabletop 3 colors. completely legal paint. a fast painter could probably knock out a plain necron army in an couple afternoons but they wouldn't be anythign special

that said if you count dipping nids can be easy to. prime white. brush one color on the scaled, then dip and done.

No that's the lazy way out, if you paint 'nids do them well.

But there really is no easy army to paint, unless you go silver 'crons. Even then silver is a hard colour to do well...

Agreed, my nids have at least 10 colours on them even right down to the rippers

Necrons. Metallic painting and green details. Second? Marines. Just a base color and some nice trims. Maybe some gold and some miliniters of red for the trinkets. Easy.

Now, the big bad manly players will be over here painting Orks, Guards and Witch Hunters.

Pretty much a tie, the only real difference is Necrons use green for the eyes and Grey Knights use blue.

Then there is this happy little Imperial Fist successor chapter.

Guard!? Seriously? If you are building the cadians with the peg holding the lasgun on, have no camo, and don't care how they look, then yeah, guard are the easiest to paint. Painting guard to table top quality takes effort, painting to display far more so.

I say this at the end of painting 3k of guardsmen in 1.5 months, so take with a grain of salt.

Anything where predominantly every model has a face with detail is going to require some work to make it look decent. Guard would be easy to paint if you could get your hands on a bunch of steel legion(trench coats and gas masks) or valhallans(trench coats, gas masks, fuzzy hats, some faces).

If you friend plays/paints guard, he could very well have gotten to the point where they are easy to paint because he has a method and such. I personally got to the point where it took me 30-45 minutes for a catachan with camo pants. It started at closer to 90 minutes.
