Apologies if this has been asked before, but what do we know of the fates of the primarchs?

I know that Horus is dead - killed by the Emperor
Roboute Guilliman is in a stasis field
Sanguinius is dead - killed by Horus
Leman Russ is either dead, or lost (not sure which - fluff differs)

One (who's name escapes me) was killed by a calidus assassin

But can any dakkanaut fill me in on the rest please?

Russ is in the EoT
Khan was last seen fighting in the webway
Ferrus Manus was killed by Fulgrim
Vulcan is just lost.
Corax was last seen moving to the EoT.
Lion is in The Rock, in a coma.
Dorn died during a black crusade.

Traitor:
Curze was the one killed by the assasin
Fulgrim, Angron, Lorgar, Peturabo and Mortarion and Magnus have become daemon princes.

Vulcan's particles are lost is more accurate. That is KIA (or rather pulverized in action)

Russ is lost
Same as the Khan
Night Haunter was killed (or ratehr let himbself be killed) by an assassin
Horus KIA
Ferrus Manus KIA
Sanguinius KIA
Rogal Dorn KIA
Guilleman to be realistic is KIA (although some will argue he is still alive)
Alpharius/Omegon is a mistery but it is said Alpharius is KIA
The Lion is taking a little over extended nap in The Rock
Corax went to buy some cigarettes and has't come back to home yet.
Magnus. Perturabo, Angron, Mortarion, Fulgrim (or what is left of him) and Lorgar became daemon princes

There is a bit of fluff about Russ where he makes his 'I will return......for the Wolftime' speech when he's on his deathbed apparently.

Don't see how that fits in with the Great Hunts....

While Vulkan is believed by some to have died at the Dropsite Massacre, there is fluff which indicates that he was seen afterwards. In particular, it has been stated that Vulkan opposed the Codex Astartes, despite the fact that it was written and presented after his "death". In addition, no body was ever recovered, and more importantly to my mind, none of the Chaos Primarchs, nor any Chaos-related individual at all, ever claimed credit for killing him. He was last seen by his own Legion being dogpiled by ordinary, run of the mill Traitor Marines. Seems to me that if someone had managed to kill Vulkan they would have crowed about it afterward. Seems far more likely that Vulkan managed to survive the Dropsite Massacre somehow.

There is also...

Spoiler:
... a short story in the last Heresy book in which the main character (a grunt form the Salamanders Legion) sees with his own eyes how his Primarch was nuked to death by an Iron Warriros barrage.

Magnus drops a few lines in Battle of the Fang that seem to indicate that Magnus know where Russ is, and that Russ isn't doing so well.

Alpharius is in no way confirmed KIA.

The Ultramarines themselves have no record of this event ever taking place.

Raulmichile: Which book? Having not read it, I can't comment with authority. (Although in the interests of full disclosure, I am a huge Salamanders fan and love reading every little thing about them) However, what is the point of view of the story? The reason I ask is that in (I believe) Fulgrim the description of the Dropsite Massacre give a different take on things.

I guess my point is that there is enough mystery and contradictory fluff to make the whole thing very nebulous. No one in the 40k universe really knows what happened to Vulkan, although a few people think they do.

He left with his Wolf Guard (Barring Bjorn) to go into the EoT for some unknown reason.
There isn't any record of him suffering mortal wounds beforehand.

It is in the last compilation of short stories in the HH series. Age of Darkness is the name of the book. The name of the story escapes my mind but is a Salamanders story of a marine and his endeavours some couple of years after the Drop Site Massacre.

The reasons have been uncovered as "known" for sometime now. He went to retrieve/join the 13th company as they were his original Wolf Guard (before anyone was a Space Marine).

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Source?
AFAIK there were numerous reason including:
Finding the tree of life to bring the Emperor back
Joining the 13th
Killing Magnus
Finding the Lion (supposedly they became very close over time after their constant duels)

The quote about him being on his deathbed is in the SW codex.

So potentially, we could have 5 loyalist primarchs returning?

Russ (if he got better from his deathbed)
Corax
Lion'El Johnson
Vulcan
Khan

and possibly Guilliman (according to some fluff about his cut throat healing)

Might be an interesting scenario - a final battle when the loyalist and traitor primarchs meet as the Golden Throne finally fails....

It doesn't say he is on his deathbed however.
Guillima is definately not coming back, the thing about him healing is arumour.

@Doc21 and Darknesseternal

Pretty sure all the other stuff about Leman was overruled by the newest codex.
C: SW, P9, "He led the SW deep inside the Eye of Terror in pursuit of the renegade Space marine Legions. Eventually Russ disappeared altogether, taking only his retinue with him."

There's definitely no deathbed.

It's wrong. According to the Index Astartes, his final words were the wolftime business, but he didn't die. He had some sort of weird fit, fell to his knees and then walked out of the hall with his retinue never to be seen again. There's 8 paragraphs or so from Bjorn's POV in the article. It's pretty good.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh, and apparently there's a RT book that says he was on his deathbed. 'Book of the Astronomican'. (1988 btw)

Apparently it has been ret-conned though since then.

"Listen closely Brothers, for my life's breath is all but spent. There shall come a time far from now when our Chapter itself is dying, even as I am now dying, and our foes shall gather to destroy us. Then my children, I shall listen for your call in whatever realm of death holds me, and come I shall, no matter what the laws of life and death forbid. At the end I will be there. For the final battle. For the Wolftime." (last words of Leman Russ the Primarch of the Space Wolves Chapter of Space Marines)

That was it, wasn't sure where it came from. It does say that he was dying though, even if it has since been retconned.

I have heard (though have no evidence of) khan may have been captured by Dark Edar and is now one of their gladiator.
could a Primarch really be held so easily?

The current SW codex says on page 28:
"Listen but closely my brothers, for my life's breath is all but spent. There shall come a time far from now when our chapter is dying, even as I am now dying......."

sounds pretty much like a deathbed speech to me. lol
