coflict between warhammer army list rules and de army list rules

the de army book says this on what you can take up to 3 characters but no lords, 2+ core choices 0-3 special and 0-1 rare for an army less than 2000 points but the warhammer rules book says you can only take up to 25% of points on lords and heros 50 % on special units and 25% on rares

what one of theese should i trust?

All army books have been errataed to the percentages, ignore the slots

Go with the %s in the rule book. There is a statement in the FAQ I think where it says to ignore the force orginization charts in every rulebook.

You also need at least 2 units and then whatever % for the different types.

You need at least 3 units, and heroes/lords don't count toward that.

You also ignore things that say 'take up an extra hero slot' (Taking a dragon for exapmle)

I had issues with this too and i think it should be noted that high elves count as an elite army and have differing selection rules (although as afaik the dark elves do not)
There is a small sidebar on in the rull book that talks about this on around the are selection page.

Tk are pretty well elite too the core is meh but specials and rares are nice.

WoC is a pretty elite army too and well our core units rock

Rare and special choices are pretty awesome as well.

Back to point there is no force organization chart in WHFB as was stated that confused me when I started as well.

Check the erratas and the FAQ's to answer any questions they do answer most

I was trying to point out that 'force organization chart' is a 40k term, hence why they don't exist in WHFB...

Cowpow, I don't think Spazz was referring to the concept of using only elite units. The High Elves actually have a rule that allows them to use more Special Choices and Rare choices than other armies.

Page 89 – Choosing an Army Add “Elite Army The High Elves are few in numbers, but their armies are trained and equipped to standards so high that they are the envy of all other races. To represent this, an army may include up to 6 of each Special choice (up to 12 in a Grand Army) and up to 4 of each Rare choice (up to 8 in a grand army).”

To the OP, as pointed out in the thread, all books must follow the %'s given on page 134 of the BRB. Furthermore, note the chart on page 135 that lists duplicate choices. This will affect your overall selection process in some cases.

The last time Archaeon ran into the greenskins, he got his skull thumped by Grimgor. I'm not sure I'd count on their help for anything.

Even if they did show up to that party, they'd most likely be fighting with everyone involved, including themselves. Gotta love them Greenskins.

it clearly states in the big rulebook that in the event of any disagreement between the rulebook and army specific books, the rulebook takes precidence.

But yes those green skins do now how to have them a battle.
