I've read a few rumours about a supposed 5th god Malal whose insignia is black and white kinda like a yin yang symbol. What kind of daemons would this god have and how would you paint them? Also does anyone have some more information on Malal?

Malal's daemons look like this:

Gathering the Informations.

There's information on Malal, but you'll have to dig for it.

Malal was created by a member of the early GW design team, who subsequently left and owned the rights to Malal. Rather than paying for the rights--GW cut any and all mention of Malal.

So anyone who wants to tell you there's a fifth God of Chaos is talking about decades ago when Malal still existed. There are, now, only four Gods of Chaos.

And unless GW decides to do something else, there will be no fifth.

The Emperor's soul is a slave to the powers of Chaos. Eternally feeding them, every sacrafice made to him being sucked through the plate that what once was his mortal soul. He is no more a god than a cat is. Only the stupid humans would think that their is ANYTHING that stands a chance against the Chaos Gods. Why do you think after so many millenia Eldar hide their souls in stones? Because there is no escape, no matter how powerful the being was in his mortal life, all are worms in comparison.

Humanity is standing next to a gateway that contains more enemies than the Imperium's Empire has people, trillions of times multiplied by trillions of times. Using a broken psyker as a shield against 4 Chaos Gods at the prime of their power? Slaanesh took ONE breathe in the mortal realm and killed the entire Eldar race in a few seconds. What chance would a mortal who got defeated by his own son stand?

There are zillions of chaos gods, not 4 or 5.

Also, Malal was retconed out of the setting 20 years ago.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Did he even make it into 40K? Thought he was just fantasy to begin with.

...urrrr... I dunno

Malal no longer exists within the canon. It'd be pointless to bring him, up, really.

Malal first appeared in the WHFRPG adventure book Something Rotten in Kislev... not sure he (or Necoho or Zuvassin, two other Chaos Gods from the same book) ever made it any further.

But, yeah, no longer existing in the WH universe, so really just a point of trivia, nothing more.

Why do you think after so many millenia Eldar hide their souls in stones?

Because they lack the light of the God-Emperor.

Do you have any sources? I'm not trying to call you a liar, it's just that I've never heard of these 'zillions of Chaos gods.' I've heard of, like, seven. Three of which no longer exist in canon.

Yeah, there's really not "zillions" of Chaos Gods.

There's "the Big Four" and then many lesser entities which people might deem as Gods.

You could technically say that a Malal equivalent still exists due to the presence of the Sons of Malice.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Also because the Eldar, being a much more psychic race than humans, are specifically hunted by Slaanesh. That's why they hide their souls away, rather than allow them to pass on into the Warp. It's not the same case with human souls at all.

Brothers, there is one traitor here who talk lies about the Emperor.

Listen not for him because how can a race that has no God tell us that one doesn't exist?

I'm sure plenty of humans and minor xeno species or societies might worship particular Daemon Princes because they believe they are gods... and, indeed, there may be zillions of such Daemons, though they are a far cry from a true Power of Chaos.

The Big Four are merely the Big Four. There are countless others as sources ranging from Realms of Chaos books to the HH series has made clear.

Malal has since been replaced in GW by Malice, de facto anyway.

I like Malal quite a bit though, wrote a bit of fluff back in the day about a Malal-worshipping sect of Chaos Space Marines attempting to wipe out a sector.

My Liber Daemonicum that I keep in my chest plate has some pages torn out but only four chaos gods are in it now. The inquisition (GW) says the book was bound with half-torn pages already in it and they're only for looks and nothing was ever there. They promised.

Umm... I just want to actually point this out. This is from a BL book mind you, so chances are it was just written for fun, but in the first Space Marine mini stories that came out a while ago, "Heroes of the Space Marines", There is an entire story called "The Labyrinth", its about these taitor marines that worship a chaos god called Malice. Now, I know its not Malal, but Malice is apparently the Renegade God, the Outcast, Hierarchy of Anarchy and Terror.

And, to make things worse
Spoiler:
He gets rencarnated into the Material Realm

Just saying, probably just was created for an intresting story, but maybe this is a hint towards something GW is going to do.

How lovely, renaming the malicious god Malal Malice, where is your imagination GW? Or are the little five year olds you keep locked up and torture for imaginative bs growing up and losing it?

Well, the cult worshiping it does call themselves the "Sons of Malice", and you can't really believe that Khorne and Tzeentch and the others only go by the names we know them as, can you?

Yeah. A good idea is still a good idea. If changing his name to Malice is what it takes to bring Malal back, I am all for it. And if they can do that and get away with it without having to pay the original developer Kan mentioned, then good for them.

What do you want them to do they can't call him Malal anymore and it can't just be a random name that has nothing to do with what it's supposed to be.

I mean I was hearing rumors that they were going to name him something like Malkorith (not sure if that's right but sounds something like Mal-core-ith), as in an actual name, not an actual word.

I'm all for Malal, regardless of what they name him. I don't care about continuity, so long as I get Malal.

Really, it's a selfish thing. I just want the things that make me happy, and I don't care about the cost. Since I will never get Malal back under the old name, if it happens at all it would be with a new name. So I'm not going to gripe about his sudden change of moniker.

On the zillions of gods thing. A 'God' in 40k is something that can pour part of it's power into a sub-being (ie. A Daemon). Lots of beings can do that, but they have so little power they can only make one 'daemon', and then they'd stop existing.

Can't remember where I read this, I think it was on Lexicanum.
