So wednesday I had a game, my space marines vs dark eldar. 1500 points. Well my unit of 7 assault termies and vulkan are sitting tight in their land raider redeemer, when a dark lance gets an explode on the LRR. So my termies are sitting out in the open, and a squad of wyches are about 5" away (they didn't assault that turn, idk why). So I charge them with termies and a tactical combat squad. I lose combat by 1, so I take morale checks. Tacticals pass theirs fine. My terminators w/ Vulkan. 12. They fail. I'm maybe 7" from the board edge. so I get a 5, but don't run far enough from the wyches. Next turn they walk off the board. That was on turn 3. So like half my points run off, before we are half way through the match. WTF!?

I (space marines) whas playing against a friend(chaos space marines) and i too have vulkan..
vulkan sat inside a combat squad when a chaos lord or some ugly termie HQ with 3 wounds or something came along... with my squad still in combat, but...he just stands there 5" in range..nothing..then i won the combat with only my vulkan left and he want to assault me....but i remembered...CONSOLIDATE BIATZZ.so i move 3" away,HE CANT DO SHISSS MY TURN. i move 6" in launch my heavy flamer.. Burns his A$$ BOOM WOUND. assault BOOM WOUND. my last attack BOOOM!!! DEAD i win you dead, ASIAN BELLY DANZ(im not asian but > I WANNA)

Well, I was playing my Battle Sisters against my mom's Space Marines. My Battle Sisters are getting shot up by something with a load of shots, and I take a total of twelve wounds. No problem, I've got a 3+ save, so I should /only/ lose 4.

I roll my saves, and get nine 1s and two 2s, and a single 3.

I must admit I burst out laughing and dropped a good-natured, "What the F-bomb!" while laughing.

Edit: It might have been melee attacks instead of shooting. I just remember rolling nine 1s on twelve dice.

they get shot at with about 40 dice worth of shooting attacks, only the vox officer dies, next turn i charge ghaz with straken, the leman russ killls a battle wagon which explodes and wipes out his lootas and causes his nobz to run away and straken takes ghaz's last wound

This is really a WTF from my opponent's angle...Sanguinius (dakka name) was the unfortunate recipient of this dicefething.

Blood Angels vs. Mech Vets.

BA player has me backed into a corner, and it's Capture and Control. We've played a lot of games (usually my Chaos vs. his GK BA or Mechdar) that end in a tie, and I've won one or two, but he's never gotten one over on me. He's really looking forward to pulverizing me this game, and I'm getting absolutely wrecked. So this is the moment:

5 TH/SS Terminators and a Sanguinary Priest backing a Veteran squad and their Chimera into a corner. His movement doesn't get him quite close enough to assault but he runs and surrounds the thing. Nowhere I can go without letting this Deathstar right onto my objective. Everything in my army fires to no effect except the Hydra Flak Battery consisting of 3 Hydras. That's 12 TL longbarrel Autocannon shots and 9 Heavy Bolter shots if they don't move. They pivot and line up the unit...

I roll to hit...reroll the missed Autocannon shots...roll to wound...Sanguinius has 5 wounds to allocate to the squad which he puts solely on the Terminators. These are TH/SS FNP Terminators. He rolls his 5 dice: 5 ONES. It's OK though they have FNP, right? 1 1 2 3 2. When the smoke clears, one round of shooting from the Hydras completely ventilates 5 TH/SS FNP Terminators. We're looking at the table like "Wow...what the feth just happened?"



He still owes me a Loss.

I have done this in several games so, I was shooting at my mates 'nilla marines with by Tau commander and his bodyguard using missile pods, fusion blasters, plasma rifle and cyclic ion blaster. I manage to do alot of wounds to his captain but he saves them all. Fortunately one of my drones that they take as wargear was still alive, so i roll needing a 5 to hit and roll a 1. But, then i remember that it is twin linked so i re-roll and get a 6. Luckily only needing a 3 to wound I wound him and then he fails his armour never underestimate drones. I was totally like WTF I mean, my body guards and I had already shot it with 6 FW and did take off two wounds in early but still. I have done this with drones many times even to terminators.

I was playing against my eldar friend....he shot an EML blast template against my wyches after shooting down their raider....it scattered 9", the blast template landing directly onto my RW, he followed to roll a 6 to glance, 6 on the damage table...immobilized I thought....then I remember it was opened top, wrecked, unless I pass my 4+ supersonic save...came up as a one, his first turn...and it was the first time I had put it on the table

Ok i had just my big mek with a Shokk attack gun and about 5 lootas, he had 10 death company led by lemartas, they were about a foot away or something like that, and they fire, killed 0 lootas, pass test, and was my turn, use shokk attack gun, roll for strength, DOUBLE SIXS! kill all of them and i got the best cookie ever...

When deathcompany just deepsrike and when i wanna see how many shots my lootas fire, guess what i got? (hint hint: ) .... i hit one! but failed wound... and they rape my lines... so there is my luck...

I lost four deathwing terminators to an exploding Ork trukk.

I lost Tigurius and a full Sternguard squad (530 points total, out of a 1500 point game) first turn to a Deep Strike mishap.

Pssst... Razorwing Jetfighter is not open topped. You have my sympathy.

Loads of wtf moments for me. None quite as outrageous as those previously listed, but a Trygon killing a fire prism by deepstriking behind it and shooting it with electric spines is pretty amusing.

Though being a skimmer it's still wrecked for an immobilized on a flat out move.

Dawn of War, opponent reserved everything as he knew I would alpha strike my army's shooting using Solar Pulse with my lord and a warrior squad deployed on a far corner of the map.

Night fighting ends but I still make use of the Pulse as I figure why not, haven't gotten to position where i can regroup my lord to safety. Well, with the wonders of science, a random rhino's search light picks him out from amidst a giant burst of sunlight and suddenly every missile and auto cannon slug come flying his way and my Warriors and Lord promptly walk off the table as a group of scouts arrived from the closest table edge to seal the deal. about 400 pts of my army and my only res orb, gone from one bad morale check.

Yes I had that moment with my tau. twice.

First Instance:
Broadside and 2 shield drones siting at the back of the table. Squad of stormtroopers outflank and jump into melee. My guys survive their flamers but in combat the wierdest thing happens. 1st turn of combat nothing happens except for a shield drone killing one of the stormtroopers, tarpit and then the next turn he does it again. This time they fail leadership and run away, then he flamers them and it kells the shield drone.

Second:
4 man squad of FW that are retreating get charged by a squad of chosen, somehow they survive and then kill two, chosen fail leadership and GTFO.

One thing that annoys me is my hammerhead pilot, 2 every time. One time it goes off the table and I say just leave it it'll be a two when it finally stops it was a bloody two. He can't hit with his bloody railgun but he can kill a demon prince with burst cannons.

First game using my Space wolf army.

I have a long fangs unit with 2 plasma cannons they hit 4 Eldar Scounts needing 2's to wound I roll 4 1's

In my next turn they both kill them selfs with the "gets hot" rule.

Death Company attacks Fire warriors, and out of my some 31 attacks, only 5 land, those belonging to lemartus, all the others fail a 3+ and the re-rolls

After crushing 3 squads of guardsmen with Abbadon, The lone survivor turns round and takes a potshot at him wis a lasgun. Down goes Abbadon.

First turn of a game my orks vs. Dark eldar (previous codex)

My big Mek with Shokk attack gun fire at a raider, roll for strength and,... gets transported into combat, somehow he destroys the skimmer and then keeps 3 squads tied up in combat for the rest of the game. Mean while the rest of my army manages to march across the field with very little opposition until they can get the charge into the mass of dark eldar trying to kill the big mek, who never died in that game somehow.

My SW opponent drop-pods 2 of his 3 Special Weapon grey hunter squads next to my forces (He dropped a Plasma and Flamer next to my Tau, saving his melta for later). Scenario rules were any DS units that scatter take Dangerous Terrain tests. Both scatter, and he loses both of the 2 flamers and 2 or 3 more guys from that squad, and one of the 2 plasma gun and 2 or 3 guys from the second squad.

Later, when his melta squad showed up, they lost a melta guy and another vanilla marine or two as well...

~10-12 marines killed without me raising a finger...

It was loaded with Fungus Beer, and the fumes did for them.

That stuff can etch adamantine, and melt breath filters..

I guess this isn't really that big a WTF moment, but it shows how dice can screw you. Firing two broadsides at a Carnifex that is about to charge my lines (this is 4th ed. btw). I roll double 6s to hit, double 1s to wound. I only needed one wound to kill it... It charges me next turn, eats the squad it was in combat with and then proceeds to consolidate into the next squad, basically was stuck in cc for the rest of the game as I watched my army crumble.

Worse still, game of Tau vs. nids (4th edition). He has a large unit of genestealers with scuttlers, so he can scout. So he scouts forward 6". He also happens to have first turn, so he moves another 6", fleets a further 4-6", and then charges my unit of kroot which had infiltrated just in front of my main line, wipes the entire squad in one round, and then consolidates into further combats with the rest of my army. I eventually managed to kill the stealers over the next couple turns by virtue of the fact that he assaulted into like 3 or 4 units simultaneously, but I lost a bunch of stuff in the process and by the time I cleared the assault more than half my army was dead, and the rest of his army was charging into cc with me.

I lost a decked out Shas'o to a rokkit.....1 freakin' shot....and 175+ points gone.....but on a brighter note, i did pick off that 30 boy shoota squad down to 12....i like hit and run..lol

'Scuss me, but where was this none existing shock attack gun, or my lemartus, or my death company when this occurred?

My scourgages with 4 dark lances have a hammerhead heading right for them, rolled 2 1s and 2 2s to hit. Then he opened up and took out 5 of the 10 and finished me off with broad sides while I was in cover. Failed every cover save I had to make. That was a real turn turner. Had only 2 weapons left in my army that could even deal with armor at that point.
