Hi guys, again a poll-3d about very competitive ALL COMERS Crowe's Purifiers lists.

I already tested both of these lists and I already have some feedback in my mind but I would really like to know what do you think about them and what could be the bad sides of each one.


I would really like to know, if you'll have 2 minutes, which kind of lists would be particulary problematic as opponents for these 2 setups.

I like the first list personally, but that's because I'm a sucker for dreadnoughts.

lack of antitank firepower in both.psycannons are like assault cannons.a jack of all trades but master of none.use varied troops as well.if this list is a purifier crowe list,then its fantastic vs guard/nid/ork blobs,but a unit of termies with psycannons and hammers are more antitank and alot harder to move from objectives.also consider stormravens and the fact brotherhood champions are suicide weapons.charge a tyrant or avatar,die and pass test,hit on 3+ or 4+,and remove a ultra fighters

Why you particulary like Dreads? We all know they're great but what do you think make them better than potentially 48 Psycannons shots?
Besides what do you will use, in case, to contrast them?

i assume he is using SM ven dreads as Vens and normal ones as Heavy support

I like list #1. It is a very strong list. However, the only thing that bothers me is the razorbacks. You've got 2 psycannons on each unit who can't shoot because there are no firing points. Consider trying both. Myself, I personally prefer the 2 psycannons in rhinos.

as i said,crowe is a suicide weapon and doesn't have many psychic powers.consider a librarian or grand master with halberd for a second HQ

Hi jy2, I really enjoyed you Battle report vs the footslogging + suites Tau. A very good example of what a "poor" model like Crowe can do.

The ethernal Rhino vs Razorback debate for Purifiers MSU is something really interesting that can have a fine but primal importance in a list building.

I think you're particulary conservative when instead I'm more than often too aggressive.

The basic problem, imho, is that in Rhinos you'll have basically just oen valid option (starting first), take position in the midfield with 12" move, pop smoke, shoot from the inside or just stay in. No reason to disembark.

With Razobacks the possibilities are more:
A - move 6", shoot with the TL HB or smokers, keeping the unit embarked.
B - move 6", disembark, shoot with both the TL HB (or smokers) and the Psycannons. Just pay attention to keep at least 3 purifiers behind the Razorback for cover saves.
C - move 12", disembark, shoot only with the Psycannons if with nasty targets in range (Long Fangs ie). In this case, depending by the deployment, the disembarked units would often be able to assault the first enemy line (just remember to profit of the 2" that can be gained disembarking).

The C case is particulary interesting for Purgators, units that similarly to Hive Guards, could find the "hot spot" where shooting even without LOS and if possible safely out of RLOS.

The B case, if in particular talking about the 2nd list, would means a significantly devastating turn of fire. I'll let you math hammer all the shoots.

A side note about the 2nd list.
The last Purgators team have a Rhino instead another one Razorback just becasue, when possible, they will immediately disembark in the first turn lending the vehicle to Crowe. This Rhino will than rush ahead moving 12" so not in need of weapon's upgrades.

Depending on games rolls (ie in DoW) one Purifiers sq. will exchange the Razorback for the Purgators Rhino and even deploying just a TR + a Dedicated transport I'll be able to do this Crowe trick.

Just some example.

While the razorbacks do give you a flexibility that the rhinos don't, to me, it's like double the firepower but at half the efficiency. But mainly, it's because I prefer not to disembark unless I'm forced to or am about to assault. There's just too much firepower that can take out 5-man units nowadays.

Then again, while I have used psybolt razors as a GK player, I don't play razor-spam. I believe there's another player here, mercer, who tried out razor-spam GK's for a while but then opted for the more traditional rhino as a transport. Anyways, give it a try (the razors) and if you like it, then it's all good. If not, then you can always switch back to rhinos at a future date.
